Little Miss Pouncerator

Hey It’s Jet Here.

pizap-com13579540599831_ipad-searchGuess what?  We’re very excited at Casa Jet this week because a mystery of the fun kind is brewing.  Follow along if you’re curious beginning with my BFF, Savannah’s post today.

Mom had another full weekend.  She actually asked for Saturday off… no post, no commenting, just resting and some work that needed attending.  I gave her time off for good behavior.  Of course we had spa day!

um basketballSunday, she visited Nana and Poppi, from early morning until late afternoon (4 hours of driving).  She told us she needed to lie down for thirty minutes before feeding us a slightly early dinner, taking us on a slightly early constitutional, grabbing a quick shower and then off to her first UMiami Basketball game of the season. (Thanks to Grandpa who shared his tickets!)

Halfway into our snuggle time, the bell rang and rang and rang, which means Ruby wants to visit!  Little Miss Door Greeter pouncing dalmationjumped off the bed with so much energy, enthusiasm, verve (VBP) and voice.   The only hitch?  She used Mom as her springboard!  Mom uttered a huge “OUCH” as Little Miss Rocket Launcher planted four paws and 60 lbs. of forward motion on various tender spots of her body.  Mom didn’t answer the door, so JJ returned within a minute or two and excitedly leapt into bed landing on Mom in almost the exact same places, causing another loud “OUCH” from poor Mom.

Later when Ruby and Mom walked us, Ruby told us that she thought an old woman had shouted “GET OUT” and ran home to her dad worried that something was wrong.  Mom explained what had happened and they discussed how Little Miss Pouncerator didn’t mean to hurt Mom.  As you can imagine, we do not have photos from this event… however, I’m calling unintended mischief on JJ!  (again!)

Another great golden launch day.

Thankful Thursday: The Next Big Thing

Hey It’s Jet Here.

So, there we were, minding our mischief on Monday when we saw a comment from Kirby bestowing an award on us called:

the-next-big-thing

What made this award incredibly meaningful was the way Kirby described my blog; he captured my essence to a “J”! Talk about making a manly man blush!

kirby with reindeer sweater“This is a dog blog of a wonderful black fluffy beauty called Jet. This blog is full of lots of doggy fun, including the odd recipe or two you might want to try making for your own furry one! But not only that Jet often goes out of his way to give lovingly in-depth and heartfelt sometimes hilarious replies/comments to everyone who comments on his blog or makes a post on their own blog he finds, and I think that good-natured personality alone has and will help Jetty stand out from the many blogs on WordPress”

thank you in many languatgesTears welled in Mom’s eyes and she had to pause a bit as she read this to me.   Profound gratitude almost covers the feeling when others truly understand your intent without spelling it out.  For that Kirby, you have endless supplies of Jetty manly man chest bumps, JJ hugs and belly rubs from Mom.

The Rules:  Nominate 5 blogs I think are amazing and could be the next BIG thing, in one way or another.  (We agree and will quote Kirby on the following: “Some of the nominations I already consider successful blogs, but in which I believe will even grow more!”)

  1. img_0040Savannah’s Paw Tracks – I know, she’s my BFF and I’m her Champion… however, I promise you, I’m choosing Savvy’s blog for the right reasons:  Considering she burst onto the blog scene less than a year ago and has already made a memorable impact is only one reason.  Savannah courageously shares her recovery process.  As a talented and gentle blogspondent for her series, “Real Rescue Cats and Dogs are Talking – LIFE CHANGING INTERVIEWS WITH SAVANNAH,”  Savannah illuminates inspiring stories of adult K9/feline experiences.  Savvy writes with a clever wit and has developed a special new project for 2013!  (I cannot divulge (VBP – vocab builder project) the details, you’ll have to stay tuned!)
  2. img_3056The Princess Tails – Sadly, Princess Zena  (or PZ as I fondly call her) began her blogging career as a result of her beloved blogging brother, Zac, crossing Over the Rainbow Bridge.  I can empathize with her feelings.  PZ and her Producer set off on a course to make PZ a star.  Shortly after, the family grew with the addition of her standard poodle brother, Raffles.  Generously, PZ, agreed to “raise him right!”  PZ writes with an older sister’s lilt and you absolutely cannot miss her retellings of classic fairy tales/children’s stories.  She graciously included me in her latest retelling of Rapunzel!
  3. litchiLong Life Cats and Dogs – Lady Litchfield (I call her Lady Litchi), her feline brother Sabre, and Miss Susan write highly intelligent, well crafted, witty posts.  We appreciate their efforts to highlight global rescue organizations.  Lady Litchi often finds herself spearheading efforts to unravel global intrigue.  One can hardly imagine their blog has not celebrated one year yet.
  4. nerissaNerissa’s Life – Believe it or not, we just found Nerissa (from a recommendation), last evening.  Blogging for slightly over a year, this feline shows off her prowess in the fields of science, law, psychology etc… with intelligent, imaginatively written posts… For some reason, it seems like Nerissa is well known in the feline blogworld, and not as much with us K9s!
  5. bellas dog diaryBella’s Dog Diary – Bella burst into the world and the blog scene in the spring.  She already had a paw up in blogworld, because her blogging brother, Alfie, co-hosts the Mischief Monday Blog Hop and visits with his sister and her humans on occasion.  Bella shares her puppyhood with us through innocent eyes and pride in her Entelbucher heritage.  Additionally, her human shares beautiful photos of the English countryside as well.

We would have listed Gizmo from Terrier Torrent, however, Kirby bestowed the award on Gizmo concurrently with us!

Another great, The Next Big Thing, day.

Follow Up Friday – Hannukatized Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

boty-1starBefore we start our weekly roundup, we’re so excited to share the news that we received an award on Wednesday.  We promised to post about it yesterday, however, we ran out of steam.  (Mom’s fever got the best of her.)  One of our newish blogpals, Miss Ann from My Pawsitively Pets, bestowed the Pawesome Blog of the Year Award on us.  (You MUST read the post with Niblet imitating a Christmas ornament!)

Yippee, yahoo, wowee, wow, wow, fever and all, Mom joined us for a round of the Happy Dance.  We immediately send the award back to Miss Ann and promise to post a proper thank you, following the full rules and such next Thursday.

Thank you for bearing with us as we continue to dig out (and make progress) from our comment box filled with kind words of support and comfort regarding Puffy’s crossing.

Ok, on with FUF!

follow-up-fridayOur friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and has successfully turned her wonderful idea into a robust blog hop!

Saturday – Did You Hear the One About…

mischief master classMy human sister, Rachel, could not believe how many of my pals wished her Happy Birthday.  On her behalf, we send out an 18 year old, like 3 in big K9 years, THANK YOU!

So many of you sent in news that you downloaded the book (great for holiday gifts!), looked forward to the soft cover edition (on its way), complimented my mischief skills, and complimented and thanked Mom for editing that Mom and I stayed permanently blushed the whole day!

Black & White Sunday – Life’s Simple Pleasures

Many of you wondered how Little Miss I Have A New Toy fit that ball in her mouth.  Mom says she has a case of TMJ brewing!  JJ continues to favor that green ball, falling asleep with it just like that several times as Mom rubbed her belly.  She’s a funny one.  We must thank our young, human neighbor Ruby, for sharing one of her toys with JJ.

Monday Mischief – Phew Last Minute Mischief

password mischiefGreat news!  Mr. Danny “the Wonderful” from Link2City, gave Mr. GoDaddy “the business” during two, 1.5 hour discussions on Monday and by Tuesday morning Mom’s Kitchen Counselor email worked like a charm.  Mr. Danny now manages Mom’s Kitchen Counselor website and Kitchen Counselor blog in addition to her Kitchen Counselor Newsletter eblast (which has been problem free since inception 3 years ago).  He’s almost finished repairing the mess that was the KC blog, so, Mom should be back posting there soon.  Thanks for sending in so many empathetic (VBP – vocab builder project) comments.  We appreciate and we’re sorry so many of you understand.

Tasty Tuesday – realdogs Eat Chicken Jerky Tenders

5Lots of you commented on how cool it was that realdogs uses real dogs on their packages.  The Urban Hounds particularly enjoyed the photo on our package!  Can you believe we’re now part of Nip and Bones’ Baby Patches Testing Team? Whoo hoo!

The humans wrote to Mom and agreed with the idea of cutting the jerky in small pieces to make it last longer, HMPH… whose side are you on??? Everyone appreciated the all natural, grain free, made in the USA, two ingredient jerky.  Hey Mom? When can we have more?  (When you get a good run in!)

Wordless Wednesday – On Hannukatizing and Meeting Haley

hannukatizing 2012Mr. Wil from Marking Your Territory, said “Hannukatizing is officially my new favorite holiday verb.”  Whoo hoo!  We received so many compliments on Mollie, Alfie and Miss Stella’s pawesome card.  Do pop over to Mollie’s blog and share your appreciation over there, too!

Haley’s story warmed your hearts as much as it did ours.  A few of the manly men inquired about a date with the lovely K9!

Thankful Thursday – Prezzies for me? The Ultimate Gotcha Day Stretch

17We need to clarify (VBP) that we are NOT blaming Barnie the Beagle! We feel the Customs humans did not take the time to read the CLEAR label stating Dog Treats and left my pawesome, ROYAL, gift box from Mollie’s Dog Treats, ordered by my BFF, Savannah, in a hot tropical corner somewhere for EIGHTEEN days before allowing the USPS to place said box at my door, along with an army of ants!

3We tenderly unwrapped each item to show you how thoughtful Savannah and Miss Linda were in sending me such a great Gotcha Day/1st Blogiversary gift and how special Mollie, Alfie, and Miss Stella’s efforts were in  baking and wrapping their artisan treats.

11Thanks for the advance compliments on how I will look in my Hannukah bandanna.  You may not have realized, Little Miss Always Accessorizing received one, too!  We’ll model for you next week!

Another great everything worked out week.

Prezzies? For Me? The Ultimate Gotcha Day Stretch

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Apparently, a secret zipped around the virtual highway between: Savannah and Miss Linda, Mollie, Alfie and Miss Stella (of Hannukatizing fame) and MOM.  Mom, clued in as a last resort, kept the secret until 4:36 a.m.  I’ll catch you up.

Savannah and Miss Linda sweetly decided to celebrate my Gotcha Day and my first Blogiversary.

5

7

They teamed up with Mollie, Alfie and Miss Stella to send a pawesome package of Mollie’s treats, PLUS Hannukah bandanas (specially made by Miss Stella after Miss Linda explained that we did not celebrate Christmas.)

11

Miss Stella, Mollie, and Alfie worked their fingers and paws to the bone to make beautiful treats.

8

9

13

14

15

They packaged them for safe travel.

12

18

The box flew over the big pond thingie…

16

And landed in the tropics at this place called CUSTOMS.

17

Here’s what we THINK happened next.

Barnie the Beagle, (that’s the only Custom’s K9 Mom has personally met), and his friends inspected said package.  Huh?  Something smells pawesome… *goes into alert mode*… not the usual naughty sniffs of that drug stuff… oh no… this could be… CHEESE? TREATS?  Better set this aside forever and hope my handler shares with me… weeks pass…Barnie to Custom’s human… What? The frenzy of ants mean it’s not cocaine? I made a mistake? (snickering inside… thinking… mistake? pshaw, I wanted the good stuff for myself!) Customs human…  Let’s send to designated recipient…

By this time, Miss Linda told Mom about my surprise and Miss Stella said NOT to eat said treats if we ever received them as they were no longer fresh.  Mom called Miss Linda immediately upon receipt last night. She opened the package for us this morning.

314

Even though we cannot review Mollie’s special treats, we know they were made with Vitamin L (love) and we deeply appreciate her kindness.  To my BFF (best feline friend, Savvy) and Miss Linda “the Thoughtful” thank you, thank you for all your kindness, generosity, and perseverance to mark our wonderful milestones.  We’ll model the bandannas during Hannukah.

Another great Gotcha Day/1st Blogiversary it takes a village to send Jetty boy a gift day!

Tasty Tuesday – Real Dogs Eat Chicken Jerky Tenders

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Thanks to Sugar and Kol for initiating Tasty Tuesdays, today is our thirty-fifth participating post!

tasty tuesdays

We made the Baby Patches’ Tester Team (from Nip and Bones) and boy does it taste great!  Right around Turkey Day, I received this out of the blue.

11

Mom and I opened the package to find:

5

6Since we had a few Tasty Tuesday posts “in the hopper”, Mom made her faithful Kitchen K9s wait until yesterday to sample said product.  We wish we had a team t-shirt, since it was Monday Night Football and all, oops, I digressed again.  Ok, back to product review.

Mom liked the product because:

  • realdogs makes the jerky in the USA. Mom worries about the multitude (VBP – vocab building project) of recalls from products containing ingredients from China.
  • The treats have two ingredients – chicken and salt.
  • They do not use fillers or grain.  (Remember, I’m sort of trying to shrink a bit.)

Because I’m a caring brother, Little Miss Ladies First, got the first strip.

24Did you notice she left her super favorite new ball alone?

10

Mom apologizes for the fuzzy photo, however, she thought the in-motion chewing photo was worth it!

I used my shark bite technique and devoured that strip so fast Mom could not capture my enjoyment fast enough.

7

8

Obviously, we give Real Dogs All Natural Jerky 8 paws up and Mom’s Happy Face Seal of Approval.

Mom asked to share that going forward, she probably would cut the tenders in smaller pieces to use on Spa Day, after a park visit (maybe during) or as a way to lure (VBP) me out of the house when I’m frightened. Otherwise, she said JJ and I could go through the package in 1.5 minutes.  (Math: 3 strips per Kitchen K9 @ 30 seconds a strip)

Guess what? You can even try to get your photo on the bag!  Yup, you simply visit www.MakeYourDogFamous.com and follow the rules.

Another GREAT Real Dogs Chicken Jerky Tenders Day.

P.S. FYI – We did receive this tasty treat for free to review as a new member of the Baby Patches Testing Team.

P.P.S. –  Special plug – My BFF (best feline friend), Savannah, shares another inspiring story in her series Real Rescue Cats/Dogs are Talking.  Today, Nylablue, shares her story, pop over and… bring a hanky!

Mom’s Promise to Puffy

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for sending such supportive and comforting comments over the last few days.  Mom promises to respond to each one; give her a few days.  Today, we share a proper tribute to Puffy, Puff, the Puffster, the Puffmeister, Puffarooni, Huffy Puffy, Puffaroo, ….

We’re staying on the lighthearted side; Puffy and Fluffy had promised to share their Real Story with my BFF (best feline friend), Savannah in her insprining series: Real Rescue Cats and Dogs are Talking, Life Changing Interviews with Savannah. Savannah will share their stories posthumously (VBP – vocab builder project).

… With one EXCEPTION:  When Mom and my human sister adopted the “boys” from Cat Network in 2003, Mom made a solemn (VBP) promise to them the very first night.  She looked into their beautiful feline faces and PROMISED them that from that day forward, they would never suffer again, they would live like Princes… and they did.

Puffy was this thingie called aloof (VBP – I’m on a roll today!).  Unless he was wrestling with Fluffy, chasing Fluffy, beating Fluffy to Mom’s 2nd office chair for the main snooze of the day, or perched in the high jalousie windows in the dining room or living room during the winter, he mostly avoided contact with humans and canines.

Puff always maintained his manly man dashing good looks, grooming himself frequently.  My Madrina (Godmother) always told Mom she loved the heart above his eye.  Here are some of Puffy’s best antics:

  • Too cool for treats and toys – Mom tried a diverse selection over the years, sometimes the newest and coolest… when it came down to it, he liked the occasional plant/flower (then threw up), cardboard boxes and kneading the plastic shopping bags to make just the right sounds.
  • “I only drink from regal receptacles” (VBP) – Puffy rebuffed (VBP) most water dishes, he required Mom’s Dansk ramekin (VBP) or preferably her sink with fresh running water as requested ON DEMAND multiple times throughout the day.
  • The Puppet Master – Oh did he boss Koko around… Puffy devised all sorts of Kitchen plots and found a way to involve the creature pleasing Koko. I have to hand this part over to Mom, as I had not joined the family yet.

Here’s one of my NOW favorite memories:

About 6-7 years ago, I made a 2 lb. turkey roast (you know the kind that has a net around it?) in my favorite Dansk loaf pan and had removed it to cool.  Locating it deep on my counter top to acknowledge the skills of my counter surfing golden girl, I left my house at 9 p.m. to take Rachel to her Dad’s house.  I returned exactly 15 minutes later.  Upon arrival, I found the pan in smithereens on the floor.  I cleaned it up avoiding foot and paw damage.  It then occurred to me that the roast was missing.

I was too tired to deal with that and decided to take a few minutes to collect myself in my room after giving Koko the extended version of the naughty speech.  As I approached my bed, I smelled an herbal scent and immediately located the roast remains on my PILLOW with a hunk missing.  I’ll leave the Koko details out at this time by saying she received another extended naughty speech peppered with a sprinkle of amazement and laughter in my head.

Months later, I’m watching TV in the family room and I see Puffy jump up onto the kitchen counter (the kitchen being the ONE place he was not allowed on the counters… MOL… if only I had a Kitty Cam back in those days!)  On the stovetop, he was batting something around using his front right paw as a hockey stick.  The light bulb went off!  I always wondered how Koko reached the roast.  Answer: Puffy cleverly pushed the turkey roast to a place where Koko could reach it.  She did the deed and received all the blame.  I imagined him lording (VBP) over her on the stovetop laughing in his head, saying “Cats Rule, Dogs Drool”!

Puffy at times courageously joined everyone on the bed. At night, his chosen spot fell right below, in between or on my feet.  Sometimes, when all the other fur family members were elsewhere and I was reading in bed, he would jump up and allow me to pet him for a while.  Sometimes he would cuddle up by my right hip where I could still reach his chin.  The only requirement: I couldn’t look at him; I had to stay focused on my book.

I respected Puffy’s need for distance and safety.  I loved him as he was and was so thankful he learned to trust me over time.  I considered all human interactions a victory.

Another Forever Puffy day.

Tasty Tuesday: Good Mews for the Holidays

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Before we begin our post, we have sad news to share.  Yesterday, unexpectedly, my remaining feline brother, Puffy, crossed Over the Rainbow Bridge.  We will post a proper tribute on Thursday.  Mom did that text thingie as she left Dr. Schaffer’s to Miss Linda, Savannah’s (my BFF – best feline friend) Mom.  Within half a day, Miss Linda told Miss Ann from Zoolatry, who made a beautiful badge and some of our blogville friends were already sending their thoughtful condolences.  Talk about the Power of the Paw! (POTP)  Thank you so much for wrapping your virtual arms around us.

Puffy and Fluffy gave their paws of approval this year when Mom, wearing her Kitchen Counselor hat, submitted a recipe to Miss Sharon from Good Mews.  Good Mews is a 24 year old no kill, cage free feline shelter in Atlanta.  The cookbook contains 300 recipes from volunteers and supporters.  The cost is $16, click here to purchase a cool holiday gift which helps felines find forever homes.

We remain inspired by the blogville connections that arise from posting and the kindness and good that gets done.

Another great let’s help some felines, day.

Thanks to Sugar and Kol for initiating Tasty Tuesdays, today is our thirty-fourth participating post!

Thankful Thursday – Digging Out – Part 1

Hey It’s Jet Here.

We admit it, we fell so behind in showing gratitude and passing on several awards over the last few months, we’re… well… ok… officially… EMBARRASSED.  So many blog pals have kindly bestowed awards and we… (actually Mom, I was ready to dictate as always, could not keep up).  We’re attempting to begin rectifying (VBP – vocab building project) that TODAY!  If we go out of order of receiving, this just means Mom found that particular kind post at that moment. (forgive her, she tries so hard!)

Ok… we begin with our newish friend, Zena, from The Princess Tails, who bestowed, The Addictive Blog Award on our blog recently.  We thank her Royalness profusely (VBP) as any Gentleman would.  We enjoy reading Zena’s posts because this girl knows how to live the Princess life!  Also, as previously mentioned, Mom loves names that begin with “Z”!

The Rules:

  1. Thank the benefactor: Check
  2. Link back to said benefactor: Check
  3. Talk about why I blog and why I started blogging:
  4. Post Award: Check
  5. Share with 10 other blogs

Mom and I began blogging almost a year ago because we both felt sad and lonely after the loss of my golden sister, Koko, may she be frolicking OTRB.   Mom was known for sharing funny stories and tidbits about Koko when they did their pet therapy at the Childrens Hospital and she continued when I joined the family.  People told Mom that my stories made them laugh and she should share them.

Mom figured at worst, she and I would lift our spirits each morning and at best, maybe someone else would lighten their day by reading our posts.  We thought maybe a friend or two, a family member here and there, and/or a work connection would glimpse a post.  Well, with some mentoring from Miss Jennifer we have been welcomed with open arms and paws by the pet blogging community.  We laugh, we cry, we share, we connect, we learn, we educate, we dialogue, we party with the deepest gratitude.

Share:

  • Long Life Cats and Dogs – Incredibly creative and committed to helping those that cannot speak for themselves… be prepared to laugh and keep up with Lady Litchi and Miss Susan!
  • Savannah’s Paw Tracks – Ok, she’s my BFF (best feline friend)… but seriously, Savvy and Miss Linda put out so much good, especially their Real Rescue Cats/Dogs are Talking Series.  Plus, Savvy shares her wit and exquisite writing each day…
  • Texas, a cat in NY and his family give us a worldly and cosmopolitan look at life.
  • Heart Like a Dog – Miss Jodi, Sampson and Delilah teach us much about training (real life tales), life, and such.  We LOVE Miss Jodi’s sassy, honest style and appreciate her recent efforts to create Follow Up Friday.
  • A new friend, Blueberry from Spotty, Spotty Polka Dotty, captured our attention for several reasons: she joined her forever family the same time JJ joined ours, her looks captivated me us, and she likes Tasty Tuesday, too!
  • Suka’s Just Sayin’ – Suka and Miss K keep us thinking.  They deal with Suka’s health issues with grace, all the while sharing art, wonderful quotes, daily activities and such.
  • My GBGV Life –  We love, love, love Miss Emma’s photos!  This girl has supermodel written all over her!  Plus she writes well too! And… does she know how to cook for Tasty Tuesday!
  • Adventures of a Dog Mom –  Miss Emily combines her activities with Boomer and Dottie in Wichita with foodie stuff… the perfect match for us!
  • A Tonk’s Tail  – We enjoy the different personalities of FaRaDaY, Maxwell and Allie as well as the wonderful creativity, wit, information and appreciation their human includes in their posts.
  • Bella’s Dog Diary –  We met Bella through her brother, Alfie, who cohosts the Mischief Monday Blog hop.  Bella shares her puppy-hood with us in beautiful photos, and entertaining posts.  She also visits her brother Alfie, so we can see how the sibs play together.

Another great Addictive Blog Award day!

We just joined the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop hosted by Pepi Smart Dog (formerly by Cokie the Cat!).

Follow Up Friday: Lots of Tidbits

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Our friend, Miss Jodi, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea.

Forever Fluffy:

We have been inundated with kindness!  Mom and I continue to dig out of our comment pile.  We deeply apologize for tardy replies; we’re up to 50 something… bear with us we will answer every thoughtful soul who so graciously stopped by to offer condolences.  Also, thanks to our bestest feline friend, Savvy, and Miss Linda for commissioning such a beautiful badge from Miss Ann @ Zoolatry. We smile every time we scroll past it.

Speaking of Miss Ann, check out the auction going on to help her family’s medical situation.  Mom donated a $150 Sessions with the Kitchen Counselor gift certificate. Also, Savvy and Miss Linda, are looking for three good K9s!  (couldn’t resist writing that…)  In case you’ve missed it, my sweet Savannah hosts a monthly series, Life Changing Interviews with Savannah: Real Cat and Dog Rescues Are Talking…“, and while her feline slots filled up swiftly, three K9 slots remain.

Blustery Mr. Hurricane/Tropical Storm Isaac:

Once again, the pet blogging community left Mom with her jaw hanging open.  The outpouring of genuine care, good wishes, concern, prayers, and support before AND after the storm passed us and deluged (vocab building project VBP) the Gulf Coast was extraordinary.  We passed on some preparation suggestions to Rumpy and family, who moved into the “H” zone the week before.  We tried to check on those blog families in the area as well.  Here’s what we know from our connections:

  • Miss Wendy, one of our bff’s from Golden Rescue S. Florida – everyone’s ok.
  • Miss Rebecca – our other bff from GRSF – took on water, wet vacced the inside of the house; waited for the water to drain and was planning to clean the debris in the backyard yesterday, before Jack did another drop and roll!
  • Miss Beverly and Neve’s daughter/human sister, husband and family – all ok, not sure if daughter’s house took on water yet, they’re still at another family member’s home.
  • My Grandma’s niece-in-law (she sent in name and now Mom cannot find it… darn) and Gus, the 120 lb K9 evacuated from their houseboat before the storm hit… so far, no further updates.
  • Miss Mary Ann’s friend, “Louisiana Lori” – everyone’s ok, (attending LSU game this weekend – good sign!) – fence down in parts, a few more house issues and some other family members yet to check in.

Avians:

Remember we worried about seeing only one blue macaw?  Miss Mary Ann first shared with us and then we saw for ourselves the duo flying magnificently overhead.  We hope they found cover during Mr. Blustery Tropical Storm Isaac.

Speaking of avians, we neglected to mention that during the few weeks of daily sightings, Miss Mary Ann named the arrogant persistent peacock! For those of you familiar with the TV show, M*A*S*H, Charles Winchester joined the unit after a few seasons.  He was a haughty (VBP) arrogant, know-it-all, who thought he was above everyone else, just like you know who!  So, may we present, Winchester the Peacock!

Another great catch up day.
