Tasty Tuesday: Good Mews for the Holidays

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Before we begin our post, we have sad news to share.  Yesterday, unexpectedly, my remaining feline brother, Puffy, crossed Over the Rainbow Bridge.  We will post a proper tribute on Thursday.  Mom did that text thingie as she left Dr. Schaffer’s to Miss Linda, Savannah’s (my BFF – best feline friend) Mom.  Within half a day, Miss Linda told Miss Ann from Zoolatry, who made a beautiful badge and some of our blogville friends were already sending their thoughtful condolences.  Talk about the Power of the Paw! (POTP)  Thank you so much for wrapping your virtual arms around us.

Puffy and Fluffy gave their paws of approval this year when Mom, wearing her Kitchen Counselor hat, submitted a recipe to Miss Sharon from Good Mews.  Good Mews is a 24 year old no kill, cage free feline shelter in Atlanta.  The cookbook contains 300 recipes from volunteers and supporters.  The cost is $16, click here to purchase a cool holiday gift which helps felines find forever homes.

We remain inspired by the blogville connections that arise from posting and the kindness and good that gets done.

Another great let’s help some felines, day.

Thanks to Sugar and Kol for initiating Tasty Tuesdays, today is our thirty-fourth participating post!

A View From Above

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Ever since Fluffy crossed *OTRB* this past August, Puffy shied away from their personal water fountain, aka Mom’s sink!  For over a decade, the pair would jump up to Mom’s sink several times a day expecting a deluge (VBP – vocab builder project) of running water from the once novel Kohler bird bath style sink.  This week, apparently, the appropriate amount of grieving time passed and Puff returned to his spot, demanding fresh running water.  Mom gladly reprised (VBP) the ritual.

A new dimension of the ritual occurred with the arrival of JJ last December.  She would go right up to the edge of the counter-top and sniff Puffy and Fluffy.  The Puffster would have no part of that and thwap her with his front paw, hissing all the while.  You would think after almost a year, Little Miss Felines Still Look Like Toys would get the hint.  No Sirree  Bob!  It happened yet again each night this week as the Puffer returned to his perch.

When Little Miss Curiosity gets thwapped and hissed at, she thinks that’s the starting sign for a fresh game of wrestle with ‘ol Jetty Boy.  Mom caught the Puffmeister tonight looking with disdain (VBP) at our evening Wrestlemania match.

Notice the relocated sneaker, Little Miss Interior Designer felt the need to shift the footwear from the kitchen to the bathroom.  Get ready for my masterful “Disappearing Jetty” move…

Another great return to the sink day.

Penny Crosses Over

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Mom has not had much time to review her regular FB of late.  (and no… Mr. Ron did not visit yesterday, nor has he called today.  😦 .  Mom did speak to Mr. GoDaddy this morning and fixed 55% of her Kitchen Counselor 2 month old blog problem.  The next 10% will require another call to Mr. GoDaddy.)

Whoops, I digress again.  So… just now before hitting our comments, Mom popped over and saw this beautiful soul.

Penny shared her last years with Mom’s acquaintance, Miss Anneke.  Mom used to visit Miss Anneke’s needlepoint/knitting store for over 15 years.  Miss Anneke LOVES animals; she and Mom would swap stories when Mom popped in to purchase supplies.  She always had rescued cats in the shop and placed dozens of cats, dogs and ducks.

Here’s what Miss Anneke wrote today:

Penny was one of our Angora Goats. She was really, really special….. She was around 4 or 5, and had been “rescued” from an auction, we got her about two years ago…. She was so gentle, and had the most loving eyes. Ever. Penny Sue. Angora Goats are very delicate animals, and a virus took her from us way too soon.

Miss Anneke, we send our condolences, Jetty kisses and JJ hugs on the loss of your sweet Penny.  We know she will graze pain free Over the Rainbow bridge.  Perhaps she can visit with our dear Koko and sweet Fluffy.

Another great (in general), sad for Miss Anneke, day.
