Follow Up Friday – Diamond Dog Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

30_30-badge2A1Before I begin, I want to share an exciting program we joined.  Chester, Gretel and Miss Jess from YDWWYW initiated a 30/30 Challenge (walk 30 minutes a day for 30 days) beginning New Year’s Day.  We’re kind of a shoe/paw in because we do that every day since we do not have a fenced in yard.  We liked the positive outlook and will try to walk more when we can.  This project ties in to some of the points we made on our Saturday post.

follow-up-fridayOur friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and has successfully turned her wonderful idea into a robust blog hop!

Saturday – Diamond Dogs

girls-best-friendGosh, so many of our pals resonated with the picture Mom received.  You thanked us for sharing the questions Mom receives often about sharing her life with two big (really? Little Miss Golden Tropic 2013 and I think we’re fairly midsized!) K9s and echoed her sentiments.  Blogville Rocks!

Sunday – An Unexpected Visit with Austin

4 bwAs the transcriptionist, Mom did not clarify that only MOM visited with Austin!  Many of you find Austin as manly man handsome and sweet as Mom does.  Remember, he was one of the Bachelors in Little Miss Dating Game’s collection!

Monday – Literary Mischief Part II

6Remember how we worried Miss Beverly would find out about Little Miss Book Club’s enjoyment of this month’s selection?  Well, Miss Beverly read the post, commented and proved why we love her so much!  “I, Miss Beverly, say that this looks like a very well-loved book… which makes me very happy!”  Nellie’s comment gave us a good chuckle, “Hmmm, That can’t happen here anymore at our house – Mommy gots an ereader. Now all she has to contend with is slobber…”

Tuesday – Wonderful Water

water w lemon limeOur first Tasty Tuesday post of the New Year hailed the virtues of water.  All our furpals gave paws up to their enjoyment of agua.  Most of the bipeds agreed; some preferring tea to the cold options to drink the recommended daily amounts.

Wednesday – Dancing in the New Year

1Thanks for your resounding compliments and enjoyment of Ruby and Little Miss Dancing with the Stars’ photo.  Some of our newer readers thought JJ was me!  Some of our long term readers worried that I didn’t get a turn.  Mom and I loved the moment; I did not feel left out or limited because of the Cone of Courage.  I’m mellower these days… maybe it’s the hypothyroid medicine, maybe it’s the two weeks of fireworks… who knows.

Thursday – Comic Book-ized Jetty Boy

kirby comic style thanksWe apologize for falling behind on comments again. You cannot see the great responses yet ranging from agreeing that Little Miss Marvel and I are superheroes to thanking us for introducing you to the talented creators, Kirby and his Mom!  Mr. Will asked how we did it… Lucky for us, Kirby and his Mom shared the tool because you know who is quite tech challenged!

Another great Diamond Dogs FUF day!

PS… Mom’s tummy ouchies have returned on top of her lingering cold/flu thingie… we have to dig out again… which… is taking us a bit longer because my Nana and Poppi have some major health issues going on and Mom is doing lots of attending… (They live 2 hours north!)  Thanks for bearing with Mom, she really appreciates it.  Jetty

Tasty Tuesday – Wonderful Water

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Happy and HEALTHY New Year.  Did you party, celebrate, let your fur down, cavort?  (VBP – using the meaning jump or dance excitedly for cavort, not the “other” meaning.)  Well, here at Casa Jet, getting through the night without stressing too much was a victory.

2013 fireworksWhen the fireworks began, Mom gave us special chew treats which kept us distracted fairly well until the stronger, more frequent booms began.  Mom then laid out an old comforter on the floor beside her bed, put her sleeping wedges on it, and watched TV while I mostly stayed panting heavily beside her.  I had protection from Mom, her bed and her bedside table.

Little Miss Barkarooni yelled at EACH and EVERY firework.  She barked from about 8 until 2 something when the fireworks began to subside.  How she doesn’t have laryngitis today, we don’t know!

Whoops, I digressed again…

waterAnyway, we selected water today, because it’s simply… essential.  After a night of panting and/or barking, water will re-hydrate our cells and make us feel better.  I woke Mom at 5 a.m. to ask for a bowlful and drank the WHOLE THING!

You know what I had to do by 6 a.m.!  Mom adds ice cubes to our water dish most of the year because the water exiting our tap measures lukewarm.  Right now, the water arrives in our bowl at a lovely cool temperature which Little Miss Agua and I find refreshing.

water w lemon limeMom says that many humans will need to rehydrate with refreshing water today, too.  Something about too much imbibing (VBP), rich foods, etc… She told us that lots of humans find H2O boring!  Huh?  She suggests adding a slice of lemon or lime, some of those new, all natural little flavor packets, or a splash of your favorite juice.

ginger tea If you prefer a hot beverage, no worries!  You can brew ginger, mint or chamomile tea which combines water with tummy helping plants.

Another great water-licious day!

Thanks to Sugar and Kol for initiating Tasty Tuesdays, today is our thirty-ninth participating post!

NO Resolutions.

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Happy New Year. (Mom said to say that to be polite to human readers.) I cannot tell dates, so, the changing of a year escapes me. Last night, well, let’s just say, I’m glad dawn lands in my view soon, really soon. Mom and J.J. helped me leave the garage @ 6:00 a.m. after an early breakfast. I trotted past two houses, pausing twice then, stopped in my tracks, did a U-turn and briskly trotted home, not budging from the garage door. I love Mom for understanding as she does. She waited about 20 minutes and tried again, because J.J. signaled she HAD business to do. I tried to muster up courage, no luck, so the girls went alone.

Jetty, I really do understand, when you’re ready, I will take you out for a lovely walk. I think the daylight will help as will more time to disburse the leftover fire(cracker) smells. Thanks Mom… sorry for messing up our usual schedule. Oh Jetty, we all face challenges and deserve love and support. I understand this is your challenge and will always try to help the best I know how.

Mom, I wish I could make that human resolution thing, promising to try and overcome my fear, however, we K9s live in the present, so, a future promise does not compute. I can promise to live in the now and set an example daily, will that work? Absolutely my boy, humans sometimes look back or plan forward and forget to enjoy the present, so your promise to set an example will remind me to practice living in the present. Thank you Jet.

Mom, I know you’re tired from helping me through last night, so, let’s keep this short.  Thanks Jetty.

Another great day (as soon as the sun comes up.)
