Follow Up Friday – Co-Host Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

I’m delighted and excited to join my pals Sampson and Delilah (and Miss Jodi of course!) in co-hosting today’s hop!  Sampson is a bit uncomfortable today, so, please hop over and send him some extra lovies!  Join us won’t you?

First Up:  Continued safe wishes for those affected by Sandy.  May your power get restored swiftly.  Please listen to the authorities regarding the safety of your water, downed power lines, debris and such.  Let us know how we can help when you can.

Please forgive our delay in responding to all your comments, we’re still digging out.  🙂

Saturday – Mom?  Ok, Mom went to Cleveland for her Summer Camp Reunion (after 35 years… and… in case you’re curious… her camp was in Maine!)  I gave her the day off!

Black and White Sunday: Golden Pumpkins

A newish blogpal, Miss Megan, posted great K9 stencils.  We selected JJ’s heritage to show you since mine was not represented.  Many of you responded that you wanted to go to Miss Megan’s site to see if you could find your heritages.  Now we have 365 days to find a talented pumpkin carver!

Mischief Monday: Hide and Seek

JJ and I scoured (VBP – vocab building project) the house for quite a while trying to find Mom.  As you already know, she had flown the coop and landed in Cleveland for the weekend!  Mom appreciated all the humans who commented that Moms need breaks every now and then to rejuvenate (Miss Jodi’s VBP word!).  Thanks for making sure that JJ and I received the proper care from Miss Angela (we did!).   The fur family members wrote in to confirm that Mom gave us the proper amounts of extra treats and lovies for taking time away… thanks for having our backs!

Tasty Tuesday: Orbs of Goodness

Bunches of you like tomatoes, whoo hoo!  The humans enjoyed the recipe; Mom really appreciated the comment about her always posting great and delicious recipes!  Dalton, from Wagg Foods in the UK offered to become another of Mom’s Kitchen K9s!  (Mom said the more the merrier!)

Wordless Wednesday: Jetter and Allie

Mom’s friend, Miss Shari (many of you thought Miss Shari was Mom in the photo!) shared her gorgeous goldendoodle, Allie with the Camp gang at her Sunday brunch.  By then, Mom felt severely fur deprived and gave Allie lots of lovies.  So many of you commented how beautiful you thought both Allie and Miss Shari are… correct in both regards!

I had to share the great Halloween Frankenweenie picture my friend Mollie made for me again.  Yes, I scared the fur off myself for all of you who asked!  Everyone wished us a Happy Halloween and we hope you had a great one, too.  My friend, Clowie said that Spain is just beginning to celebrate the holiday in the urban areas, but… not where she lives just yet.

Thankful Thursday:  Chewies for Gotcha Day

Thank you for your gracious compliments on our first ever review.  Many of you appreciated my generous nature, sharing my gift certificate from Mr. Brent with JJ.  Mr. Brent confirmed that antler splits like the Moose split we ordered do not last as long as deer antlers.  Miss Dianda asked if they delivered to Europe… we emailed Mr. Brent and will let you know.

Mom promised a Gotcha Day stretch since she was out of town last Sunday, my formal Gotcha day… Chewy.com got my celebration off to an early start, even though Mom’s late!  So many of you wished me well, I’m still blushing with gratitude.

Another great co-hosting week!

Wordless Wednesday – Mom’s Cleveland Fur Connection

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Again, we wish our furriends affected by Sandy the safest conditions under the circumstances, please let us know how we can help as soon as you can.

Also, Happy Halloween!

On Monday, I shared that Mom spent last weekend in Cleveland and that by day 4, she was completely fur deprived.  Well, lucky for her, the camp reunion goodbye brunch was hosted generously by Miss Shari and Allie.  Allie is a gorgeous Golden Doodle.  My buddy, Sam, also a doodle, never looked like Allie, so, Mom asked Miss Shari and found out that Allie went to the Spa and got “blown out!”

Nice to meet you…

Miss Shari showing Mom how Allie gives kisses…

Allie listened to directions and was the first to take her spot on the couch to participate in Camp songs and last stories

Another great fur friend day.

Thanks to BlogPaws for sponsoring the Wordless Wednesday Hop.

Our Eighth Black & White Sunday: Golden Pumpkins!

Hey It’s Jet Here.

We met a new blogpal on the Saturday Pet Blogger’s Hop last Saturday.  Miss Megan shared a great post with Pumpkin stencils and a yummy recipe.  Since my heritages were not represented, Mom downloaded JJ’s!

Another great golden pumpkin day.

Thanks to My Life in Blog Years and Dachshund Nola for hosting the Black and White Sunday blog hop.

Follow Up Friday: Jetters Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Before we recap, we MUST share with you how much all your comments, thoughts of support, words of care and lovies meant to Miss Wendy on the loss of her sweet Barkley this week.  (noted in Tuesday’s post.)  In case you didn’t see her response, which we posted late that evening, scroll down to the end of the comments.  We knew our blogpals would rally to her side; thank you for taking Miss Wendy and her family under your paws.

Our friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and recently turned her wonderful idea into a new blog hop!  Congrats!

Saturday: Honoring Adopt-a-Shelter Month

We began our week by highlighting two super adoption events in our area.  We thought both events creatively selected themes with corresponding posters.  The first, which begins at midnight tonight is a Super Adoption beginning with kittens and puppies.  The second paired hunky firefighters with rescue K9s strutting the runway.  We appreciated your support, understanding and dismay that I, Gentleman Jetty, was not asked to appear on either poster.

Sunday: Black & White Little Cat

When Mom unexpectedly helped Mr. Andy out on Saturday afternoon with Austin, she finally caught Little Cat in daylight licking his/her chops.  Mom’s befriended LC and now, when she visits, LC will brush up against her and permit petting.  You asked us to find out LC’s real name… Mr. Andy said, “kitty”, however, when he says it, with affection, it sounds like “koodie!”  (Another mystery solved!)

Mischief Monday:  A Fox?

Turns out that many of you have foxes in your area, too!  We subsequently learned, that, while cute, foxes can cause quite a bit of mischief and beyond.  Our friend, Miss Heather found out from Health Services that the urine can be toxic to children! (I know, you’re wondering why a human child would be in that situation… however, if the foxes are in your backyard… you do the math…)  Humans also have foxes as pets, who knew?  As you suggested, we will continue to admire from afar.  Oh, we have a few entries on possible names for our new fox: Foxy and Felicia… keep those ideas coming!

Tasty Tuesday: We Honestly Love Radishes!

We featured one of my personal fave veggies this week – radishes.  Many of you commented that:

  1. You didn’t know K9s could eat radishes.
  2. Many humans did not know how many varieties of the yummy radish exist.
  3. Many of the humans either enthusiastically enjoyed radishes or kind of wrinkled their noses.
  4. 3. A few K9s admitted to hiding said veggie under various furniture species with other offered veggies!

Wordless Wednesday: JETTERS

Boy oh Boy did we spook and scare you (and ourselves!) with Mollie’s wickedly talented Frankenweenie picture of yours truly!  For many of you who worried that I would remain in that scary form, Gentleman Jetty is back, gorgeous fluffy black fur and all!

Thankful Thursday: Triple Thanks

We appreciated your compliments on our award and our apology to Princess Zena.

Another great wrap up to the week!

Morning After Wrappers

Hey, It’s Jet Here.

Oh, the joy, the wonderment, the symphony of smells… and after all, I’m worth it!  I suffered a long weekend of booms and streaky lights (Mom says thunder and lightening) causing me to shiver and shake.  I heard Mary Ann (Dixie, my miniature Dachshund friend’s Mom) tell Mom that we received 9 inches of rain along with the wind which knocked over lots of trash and recycling bins on Sunday night.

So this morning, as the wind breezed through my fur, I sniffed the multitude of Halloween wrappers on the ground, the delectable detritus left from the receding water, and of course, who could resist the garbage/recycling remnants strewn all over the grass on my regular morning route.  I tried to further investigate these items with my tongue, but, Mom did that “tch” sound thing she learned from this guy, Caesar Milan, to snap me out of it.  She and Mary Ann met this Caesar guy last year and Dixie, Koko and I had to hear about it for months.

I almost forgot to tell you how great Halloween was.  Mom’s still learning how to post pictures for me; she apologizes and will edit this post when she figures it out.  I wore my glow in the dark T-shirt and as always, I looked handsome.  When the doorbell rang, I did my Halloween howl (ok, more like bark) and went to the door to help Mom give out candy.

Another great day.
