Follow Up Friday – Dear Blogville Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

follow-up-fridayOur friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and has successfully turned her wonderful idea into a robust blog hop!

Saturday – Dear Blogville

dog chasing catWe appreciated the amount of time and care so many blogpals took to think about the difficult situation we faced last week.  Ruby let go of JJ, who saw and then zoomed after a feral cat while the homeowner had a very strong reaction.  Most of you had perspectives that resonated with Mom’s.  We have passed that way four times this week without incident.  No Mr. Homeowner sighting, though.

Sunday – Neve Makes Tracks

neve in packed car bwOur pack mate, Neve (we forgot to clarify she is a female!), stayed comfy cozy as Mr. Giovanni and Miss Beverly crossed either 8 states in 12 days or 12 states in 8 days, we forget!  Miss Beverly generously sent in this photo, which we thought had a cool composition.  Whoops, we still owe a bunch of comments from this day (Mom travels and spends very little time home on Sundays lately.)

Monday – Just Thinking About Mischief Potential

rachels rm door openA sliver of open door to a teenage room can really get your nose twitching!  Many of you wanted to know if Little Miss Curiosity and I went into Rachel’s room.  I, Gentleman Jetty, refrained from invading my human sister’s privacy.  Little Miss Can’t Resist did a fast investigation locating and delivering a wrapper of some sort to Mom.  Mom realized the source of the wrapper and quickly put a kibosh on further snooping.

Tuesday – Mom and JJ Finished the Book

SONY DSCGuess what? A few humans said they also read The Sharper the Knife, The Less You Cry.  Mom selected one of the recipes from author, Kathleen Flinn’s website.  She chose the Salad Nicoise because Little Miss Bon Appetit and I like almost every ingredient you see in the picture.  Lots of readers enjoyed the recipe, too!  Yippee!  Coincidentally, Mom’s Kitchen Counselor Newsletter eblasted Tuesday to some of our blogpals; Mom had a special thank you to them in this edition!

Wednesday – OCEARCH – Making Shark Tracks

amy sharkI would say the opinions were unanimous – great photos, great project, glad we live on land and do not encounter these 3,500 lb. creatures!  Several of you acknowledged and agreed the program creates a win/win for humans and sharks, whose populations have greatly declined.

Thursday – Mom Requests a Post of Her Own

blogpaws_conf_300x250Boy of boy, thank you for your kind words of understanding, empathy (VBP) and support for Mom.  I love you guys for that!  She worked on about 40 comments yesterday and hopefully will have some dig out time tomorrow, after her BlogTalk Radio show segment, too!  She promised to represent the Tropics as well as help me report when she attends BlogPaws.  What a leap of financial faith I tell ya!  She’s doing some of that nervous finger tapping stuff; however, I know she will figure it out.  (Coincidentally, she procured (VBP) a small, new, exciting part time job yesterday!)

Another great hats off to Blogville, week.

Mischief Monday – Mom Got Punk’d!

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Wish I could have been there to see this… I will retell as best Mom described the situation to Auntie Liz on the phone.

Mom waited patiently on Saturday morning at Dr. Shaffer’s to pick up JJ.  Lots of activity swirled around Mom:

  • A Mom and a daughter brought in their big American bulldog named Disney,
  • A man dropped off a small dog,
  • A Father, son, and Grandmother picked up their rat terrier looking dog,
  • Victor and two other vet techs periodically came out to take animals to the back, bring animals to the front or chat with the humans.
  • Judy answered phones, prepared bills, spoke with humans, and greeted the animals.

Mom stood at the desk area while Miss Judy prepared JJ’s medicine labels and her bill.  Mom minded the time on her phone because she wanted to make sure she was ready for her 10:25 a.m. And the Women Gather blogradio spot.  (She broadcasts every Saturday for The Kitchen Counselor, take a listen.  I’m usually sitting beside her when she calls in for the show!)  Her written piece, wallet, and keys rested on the counter as she watched Miss Judy.  Miss Judy called the back with a “code 15” (I think that means pick up.)  Victor brought the K9 out the door and around the corner.  Mom rushed over to say hi, give lovies etc…

In her head she thought, “What did they do to her?  She looks a little different.”  About 30 seconds passed before the pooch went potty.  Mom looked at Judy and said, “what’s wrong? JJ doesn’t have accidents?”

The whole room cracked up laughing as Miss Judy said, “you’re right!  That’s because that’s NOT JJ!!!”

Well Mom cracked up laughing too and they replayed the scene over a few times explaining how JJ and Mikalia had runs next to each other and everyone thought they looked so similar they thought they would play a prank on Mom.

How’s that for mischief?

Another great, they got Mom good, day!

Finally!

Hey, It’s Jet Here.

Today is the day, the Golden Rescue South Florida Reunion!  Mom, JJ and I can’t wait to see everyone.  First, Mom has to collect:

  • The collar GRSF lent us the night we took JJ home for a “sleepover.”
  • My cool bandana.
  • A bandana that JJ won’t eat?
  • Water for our 90+ mile drive (each way… Mom is dedicated.  Thanks Jetty.  Welcome, Mom.)
  • Our seatbelts and harnesses.
  • Towels for all sorts of reasons. (We sit on a car seat protector.)
  • Mom’s camera, phone, charger and phone number to call in for radio spot.  (see below.)
  • Other stuff we can’t remember right now.

Mom says this procedure reminds her of when my human sister, Rachel, traveled in the car.  She said she felt like they moved every day!

Can you believe Mom will stop midway through the drive to have her 5 minute And The Women Gather blogradio spot with Lorna Owens?  Miss Lorna knows Mom will use her mobile phone today; however, she is unaware that JJ and I will sit beside her in the car.  Hopefully, we will not have any comments to share.

I’m particularly excited to meet Miss Wendy and Miss Rebecca because they write such nice words to me.  Miss Rebecca’s dog, Jack, already told us what bandana he will sport!  While JJ will blend quickly into the crowd, only a few flat coat retriever mixes will attend, so, Mom should spot me easily.  Plus, I have quite the swagger, if I don’t say so myself!

We thought about having an early spa day today, and then thought the better of it.  No doubt, we will have so much fun playing tomorrow, we will come home filthy!

All three of us want to go to sleep on time tonight (I’m dictating this post early) to maximize our energy tomorrow.

Another great and partying kind of day!
