Thankful Thursday: Awards and Appreciation

Hey It’s Jet Here.

We’re participating in the Channukah Crawl this year, whoo hoo! Today, our fellow Florida pal, Gizmo along with Chazz are up.  Tomorrow, share more cool Hannukah (I know, I spell it differently!) info with Catself and PerPetually Speaking.

As promised, we wanted to officially thank Miss Ann from My Pawsitively Pets for bestowing the super special Blog of the Year Award. Here are the official rules:

boty-1star

1.  Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award.

savvy-and-jet-sidebar-revSavannah’s Paw Tracks – Besides being our BFF (best feline friend) and serving as Savannah’s Champion, Savvy and Miss Linda craft fun, meaningful and intelligent posts.  Their monthly series, Real Rescue Cats/Dogs are Talking supurrlatively capture adult rescue stories and touch a full range of emotions.

Mollie’s Dog Treats – Mollie, Alfie, and Miss Stella write posts that make us laugh.  Can you top their pawesome efforts to Frankenweenieize and Christmasize any creature who makes a request,  and grant our special request to Hannukahtize JJ and I? Plus they send out pawesome, artisan treats and bandannas!

The Princess Tails – Princess Zena’s (we call her PZ) creative story telling and clever writing make her posts most enjoyable.  We love watching PZ heal after losing Zach and integrate Raffles into her pack.

mischief master classSnoopy’s Dog Blog – What can we say about a published author, who donates half his proceeds to Therapy Dog organizations, whose chosen field of expertise is mischief?  We can say he’s our friend.

A Tonk’s Tail – We so enjoy the three distinct voices of FaRaDaY, Maxwell and Allie along with their great info and humor.

Long Life Cats and Dogs – Well the tales and posts emanating (VBP – Vocab Builder Project) from S. Africa delight our appetite for intrigue, raising springboks, art, global animal rescue, and all things creative.

follow-up-fridayHeart Like a Dog – Not only did Miss Jodi create Follow Up Friday, she, Sampson and Delilah took on a calendar project, The Dogs of Blogville, to benefit two fellow bloggers who suffered greatly from Hurricane Sandy.

tasty tuesdaysSugar and Kol for creating Tasty Tuesday, one of our favorite posts of the week; they provided a delicious outlet for our QC (quality control) responsibilities as Mom’s Kitchen K9s.  Sugar shares gorgeous photos with tour guide worthy posts, insight into See Beautiful, and an unending sweet disposition.  We so enjoy Kol’s writing style and Miss Jodi sure knows her way around a kitchen for K9s!

Please do not feel left out; we could have gone on for days you all are so talented …

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.  Check!

3 Please include a link back to this page and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them.  Will do.

5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page  and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience.

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars… We therefore return the kindness and send the Award back to Miss Ann!

Lastly, Mom wanted to thank Mr. Andy and Miss Judy for sending a picture of Austin enjoying his Hannukah prezzies from Mom!

hannukah

Another great award day.

P.S. – Please forgive Mom, she’s kind of doing the minimum of transcribing comments and visits, she’s still “under the weather.”

Blog-versary –Where Did the Year Go?

Hey It’s Jet Here.

So, along with my Gotcha Day last Sunday, (yet to receive a proper celebration… however, as the patient, Southern, Gentleman Jetty that I am… I know Mom has something cooking!) we quietly celebrated our first blog-versary on Halloween.  We didn’t make a fuss as the holiday provided lively entertainment in blog world.

When Mom agreed to collaborate with me as a way to lift our spirits after my sweet golden sister, Koko, passed in September 2011, we never in a million years expected the following:

  • With the exception of 12 days, we kept our commitment to post each day.
  • To learn what a blog hop meant and to participate in so many wonderful hops.  The hops keep us organized, structured, and in a routine as well as eliminating writer’s block most of the time!
  • As we’ve posted frequently, we’ve made so many acquaintances and a few friends beyond the blog, helping us feel connected, when we’ve been a bit isolated over the last few years.  To learn about and from our American blogpals in addition to Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, England, Canada, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Switzerland enhance our lives.
  • We have shared joy, laughter, loss, support, concern and caring … the gamut (VBP – Vocab builder project) of emotions, really.
  • The quality of the writing, creativity, social consciousness, generosity and commitment amongst our blogpals surpassed and truthfully surprised us and many in our world unfamiliar with blogs and blogging.
  • We appreciate the kindness and feedback about our other “jobs” as the Kitchen Counselor and Mom’s Kitchen K9s.
  • We have experienced the understanding, flexibility and empathy of how we all fall behind on commenting and visiting all the marvelous petblogs out there.
  • We appreciate and hope to continue learning and listening to wise bloggers out there, like Miss Linda (saved JJ’s life), Dr. Rayya (helps break down life as a vet) and Emma (shared a pawesome ear cleaning formula!) who offer advice, education, guidance and warnings to keep those of us fur family members safe.

Thanks to all of you, who take the time from your busy lives to read our musings, comment, check in on us and engage in ongoing adventures.  You have welcomed us into this precious community of pet bloggers and we feel privileged to participate.

To another great year together!

Jetty and Mom (JJ and Puffy, too!)  In loving memory… Mugs, Koko and Fluffy

Thankful Thursday: Triple Catch Up

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Mom and I proudly continue to catch up on our thank you posts… this is week 3!

First, we have an apology/thank you combo.

Zena, from The Princess Tails, bestowed the Super Sweet Blog Award to us.  When we thanked Misaki last Thursday, we should have thanked “Her Royal Princess” as well.  We humbly kneel at your paws with guilt… (like this K9!)

Princess Zena also bestowed the Wonderful Team Member Award on our blog.  We properly thank “Her Royal Princess” and I bow to your paws in gratitude.  Mom and I both appreciate the fireworks in 2D, because as you know, I cower (VBP – Vocab Builder Project) during the 3D versions!

The Rules:

1.  The Nominee of the Wonderful Team member Readership Award shall display the logo on his/her post/page and/or sidebar. (Mom will do this by next Mischief Monday!)

2.  The Nominee shall nominate 14 readers they appreciate over a period of 7 days (1 week) – this can be done at any rate during the week. It can be ALL on one day or a few on one day and a few on another day, etc. (BELOW)

*Miss Wendy: She does not have a blog, however, she reads and comments meaningfully EVERY DAY!  We wish to acknowledge and thank her for every single entry! Plus she gives the BEST lovies in person and in her comments.

3.  The Nominee shall name his or her Wonderful Team Member Readership Award nominees on a post or on posts during the 7 day (1 week) period.  Happening RIGHT NOW!

4.  The Nominee shall make these rules, or amended rules keeping to the spirit of the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award, known to each reader s/he nominates.  Happening RIGHT NOW!

5.  The Nominee must finish this sentence and post:”A Great reader is…”

  •  In this case, one who shares with their animal companion.
  • One who reads with an open heart and an open mind.
  • One who appreciates the efforts and acknowledges the talent, creativity, dedication and heart of the writer over time.
  • One who provides positive and/or constructive feedback to the writer over time.

Follow Up Friday: Neve’s Birthday Stretch Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Our friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and recently turned her wonderful idea into a new blog hop!  Congrats!

Saturday: A Little Afternoon Rest

Mom captured a few pics of JJ and I taking an afternoon siesta.  Of course, Little Miss Fastidious (VBP – vocab building project) had to complete her pedi before resting.  So many of you understood the need for the fuchsia cheetah sheet; yes, I’m secure in my manly man-ness to rock pink!

Sunday: Neve’s Birthday in Black and White

Gotta love my blogpals!  You so graciously sent in bowlfuls of birthday wishes for my pack pal.  Miss Beverly appreciated your comments as well.  Because of the color saturation choice, a few of you thought the pasta sauce Mr. Giovanni and Neve hovered over was a cake!!!  Mom goofed and shared that Neve celebrated turning 6, when in fact she turned lucky 7!

Mischief Monday:  Destruct-O-Pup

We promised a mighty juicy follow up to our pack pal, Buddy’s, MM post the week before and you agreed that we did not disappoint.  Many humans wrote humorous comments as well as understanding the underlying cause of Buddy’s wave of mischief:  he probably was scared and lonely.  Thank goodness Buddy’s human parents are so laid back; they took his misadventures in stride.

Tasty Tuesday:  Plums Two Ways

We look forward to this post, since we get to share tidbits in preparation!  As Mom’s faithful Kitchen K9s, we appreciate your positive feedback.  Lots of readers learned that you can roast plums.  Mom provided a step-by-step link for the recipe to show you the process she followed when she prepared the dish for her UMiami Diabetic Peer Support Group.

Wordless Wednesday: Neve’s Birthday Stretch

Mom firmly believes in celebrating birthdays from the weekend prior to the weekend after.  We featured Neve getting a “lift” so she could enjoy water out of our elevated bowls!

Thankful Thursday: Recovery & More Catching Up

FINALLY, a heaven sent visit from Mr. Ron and Mom’s computer issues have abated (VBP) for the most part… sure she lost her calendar with her blog radio guest schedules for the next 6 weeks, sure she can’t exactly use her prior emails, (she can peak but cannot open, copy, respond to, etc…) but… she can open Outlook and move forward.  Baby steps!

We graciously accepted two sweet awards from our pals Clowie and Misaki.  Mom only allowed us one cupcake each; we’re going to request another today and the next day and the next day until they disappear!  We agree with several readers that the best part of the award process is learning more about our blogpals.

Another great, birthday sweet week!

Thankful Thursday – Digging Out – Part 1

Hey It’s Jet Here.

We admit it, we fell so behind in showing gratitude and passing on several awards over the last few months, we’re… well… ok… officially… EMBARRASSED.  So many blog pals have kindly bestowed awards and we… (actually Mom, I was ready to dictate as always, could not keep up).  We’re attempting to begin rectifying (VBP – vocab building project) that TODAY!  If we go out of order of receiving, this just means Mom found that particular kind post at that moment. (forgive her, she tries so hard!)

Ok… we begin with our newish friend, Zena, from The Princess Tails, who bestowed, The Addictive Blog Award on our blog recently.  We thank her Royalness profusely (VBP) as any Gentleman would.  We enjoy reading Zena’s posts because this girl knows how to live the Princess life!  Also, as previously mentioned, Mom loves names that begin with “Z”!

The Rules:

  1. Thank the benefactor: Check
  2. Link back to said benefactor: Check
  3. Talk about why I blog and why I started blogging:
  4. Post Award: Check
  5. Share with 10 other blogs

Mom and I began blogging almost a year ago because we both felt sad and lonely after the loss of my golden sister, Koko, may she be frolicking OTRB.   Mom was known for sharing funny stories and tidbits about Koko when they did their pet therapy at the Childrens Hospital and she continued when I joined the family.  People told Mom that my stories made them laugh and she should share them.

Mom figured at worst, she and I would lift our spirits each morning and at best, maybe someone else would lighten their day by reading our posts.  We thought maybe a friend or two, a family member here and there, and/or a work connection would glimpse a post.  Well, with some mentoring from Miss Jennifer we have been welcomed with open arms and paws by the pet blogging community.  We laugh, we cry, we share, we connect, we learn, we educate, we dialogue, we party with the deepest gratitude.

Share:

  • Long Life Cats and Dogs – Incredibly creative and committed to helping those that cannot speak for themselves… be prepared to laugh and keep up with Lady Litchi and Miss Susan!
  • Savannah’s Paw Tracks – Ok, she’s my BFF (best feline friend)… but seriously, Savvy and Miss Linda put out so much good, especially their Real Rescue Cats/Dogs are Talking Series.  Plus, Savvy shares her wit and exquisite writing each day…
  • Texas, a cat in NY and his family give us a worldly and cosmopolitan look at life.
  • Heart Like a Dog – Miss Jodi, Sampson and Delilah teach us much about training (real life tales), life, and such.  We LOVE Miss Jodi’s sassy, honest style and appreciate her recent efforts to create Follow Up Friday.
  • A new friend, Blueberry from Spotty, Spotty Polka Dotty, captured our attention for several reasons: she joined her forever family the same time JJ joined ours, her looks captivated me us, and she likes Tasty Tuesday, too!
  • Suka’s Just Sayin’ – Suka and Miss K keep us thinking.  They deal with Suka’s health issues with grace, all the while sharing art, wonderful quotes, daily activities and such.
  • My GBGV Life –  We love, love, love Miss Emma’s photos!  This girl has supermodel written all over her!  Plus she writes well too! And… does she know how to cook for Tasty Tuesday!
  • Adventures of a Dog Mom –  Miss Emily combines her activities with Boomer and Dottie in Wichita with foodie stuff… the perfect match for us!
  • A Tonk’s Tail  – We enjoy the different personalities of FaRaDaY, Maxwell and Allie as well as the wonderful creativity, wit, information and appreciation their human includes in their posts.
  • Bella’s Dog Diary –  We met Bella through her brother, Alfie, who cohosts the Mischief Monday Blog hop.  Bella shares her puppy-hood with us in beautiful photos, and entertaining posts.  She also visits her brother Alfie, so we can see how the sibs play together.

Another great Addictive Blog Award day!

We just joined the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop hosted by Pepi Smart Dog (formerly by Cokie the Cat!).

Blog on Fire?

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Thank goodness we had spa day this morning @ 7:00 a.m. Why you ask? Well aside from the obvious, we had a surprise today. Texas, A Cat in NY bestowed the Blog on Fire Award to us and since our fur is still wet we will stay safe! What Mom? I’m confused? How so? Oh, blog on fire does not mean our blog is burning? Phew… and … Oops! Well, that’s great news. Oh and the phrase can imply that the nominated blogs are catching fire or hot, hot, hot, or here in the tropics they say… muy caliente!

Texas, a cat with beginnings in France lives in NY, where he shares his worldly observations. We met him through our friend, Savvy, from Savannah’s Paw Tracks, who Texas also gave the awardl

The Rules: Share 8 unusual things about yourself.

1. I have a VERY particular ritual for doing my solid waste business – I pace and pace and pace and pace until Mom is BEGGING in her mind for me to make up my mind already!
2. Mom gave me two man caves to feel safe in.
3. I love the smell of shampoo.
4. I cannot resist the George Forman drip tray… I try, really I do.
5. Oh, back to the solid waste issue, I prefer to pace right under the front windows of my neighbor’s homes. Mom is completely mortified.
6. I love canal swimming; smelling like a swamp dog does not bother me in the least.
7. I eat lots of fruits and veggies.
8. I used to be the hyper K9 when Koko was alive, now JJ is! In fact… uh… not sure I want to even put this in writing… I may, might, sort of, kind of be relinquishing some of my alpha position to Little Miss Barkarooni!

Mom’s behind schedule today, more on that tomorrow, so, we will share the award with 8 blogs in no particular order without our usual descriptions. (Oh my, she couldn’t help herself.)

1. A Tonk’s Tail – Farraday, Ryker, Allie and their Mom catch fire with their lightening twitter speed and lightening wit!
2. Kenzo the Hovawart – Kenzo and his human are catching fire by educating us about hovawarts, which are not so familiar to most of us.
3. Rumpy the Dog – They are catching fire by earning a Pettie nomination!
4. Bongo – Bongo catches fire for his diligence in protecting his trails.
5. Fabulous Flo –  She catches fire because well, she’s fabulous and she just celebrated her 1 year blogiversary!
6. Two French Bulldogs  Benny and Lily catch fire for always supporting us with comments and writing fun, memorable posts with great pics.
7. Fluffy Popcorn – Poppy, our virtual little sister catches fire with her cuteness of course, and her Mom’s skill and talents with video, posts, pics. We are WAY behind, Poppy, please forgive us.
8. Paws to Talk –  They catch fire by giving fast, thoughtful, advice, one bark at a time.

Another great Blogs on Fire, day!

Delayed Gracias! Part I

Hey It’s Jet Here.

As a result of Mom’s work schedule, our blog hopping schedules, and our computer issues, we have not said our proper Thank You (s) and followed protocol on our recent awards.

Before proceeding with proper etiquette (vocab builder), a quick note on awards, from our perspective.  When we began receiving awards and bestowing awards, we felt honored privileged and supported in the efforts we put forth.  We take awards as a way to stretch our awareness of other bloggers work in addition to feeling the commraderie and passing along the good.  How about you?  Do you feel that awards have gotten out of hand or do you feel they are a way of saying, “good job, we appreciate your efforts, pass on the kindness” like we do?

Ok, with that said… (off my Buddy Wash Soap Box. (Green Tea and Rosemary))

Thanks to our dear feline friend, Savvy, from Savannah’s Paw Tracks for bestowing the Very Inspired Blogger Award.  She calls me Big Guy (which I just LOVE) and shares her daily recovery since her family rescued her from the shelter where they thought she was unfriendly.  Boy if they could see her now!  She taught me paw pats and paw pumps, too!

Thanks to my blogging little sister, Poppy, from Fluffy Popcorn for sharing a 2nd Sunshine Award.  Guess what? Poppy sent us the award on the same day we sent it to her… BOL!  We will thank her more tomorrow.

We will forward The Very Inspiring Blogger Award today and The Sunshine Award tomorrow.  The Rules:

(1) Thank the person who nominated you and link back to them in your post.  Gracias, (we live in the tropics where humans speak a great deal of Spanish), to Savvy – tons of paw pats and paw pumps!

(2) Share 7 things about yourself…

  1. This week I reacted a little better during the storms, it was Little Miss Barkarooni who robo-barked.
  2. I’m super excited that mango season began in our back yard this week! I’m waiting for the first fruit to ripen.
  3. I can be a Momma’s boy sometimes.
  4. I can’t wait to go swimming. (Mom’s waiting for my skin boo boos to fully resolve.)
  5. I love my Scooby Doo Academy curriculum.
  6. Nothing beats a belly rub.
  7. I’m a great Heat fan, I’m always wearing their colors!

(3) Nominate 15 bloggers you admire (in no particular order).

  1. Fluffy Popcorn – Poppy and her Mommy have inspired us with their unending creativity.
  2. Basset Momma – Fred, Gloria and Miss Janet inspire us by reading and responding to what feels like limitless posts with good cheer.  They’re all really funny, too.
  3. BZ Training – Henry and Zachary’s human takes some of our favorite photos.
  4. Jodi Stone – Sampson and Delilah’s Mom inspires us by having the courage to be herself and walk the talk.
  5. GloGirly – Miss Katie inspires us with her amazing creativity, especially The Real Housecats of the Blogosphere videos.
  6. Snoopy’s Dog Blog – He and his Mom sponsor the Mischief Monday blog hop, won the Petco blog opportunity from the conference, is writing a book, does pet therapy…geesh, he sets a high standard for manly men like me.
  7. Kol’s Notes – He and Miss Jodi inspire us with their cool artwork, their K9 recipes and their newish Tasty Tuesday blog hop.
  8. Tales and Tails – Bunny and her sister, Morgan inspire us in two ways.  Bunny inspires us with her modeling talents.  Morgan is training to help humans stay safe.
  9. Puppy in Training – Mr. Colby puppy raises for Guide Dogs of America.  We so appreciate his good work with Apache and the pack.
  10. Roxy, The Traveling Dog – Miss Mary, Roxy and Torrey inspire us because Miss Mary is such a talented artist and the family participates in this cool historical stuff.
  11. All Things Dog Blog – Miss Carrie inspires us by educating Mom and I on training and lots of other info.
  12. Something Wagging This Way Comes – Honey and her Mom inspire us with beautiful, insightful writing.
  13. My Dogs Love Me – Haopee and her K9s inspire us with their creativity (they even make headers for other bloggers) and tech help for Mom.
  14. A Tonk’s Tail – Miss Allie and her husband volunteer at Missouri’s largest no-kill shelter.  She shares her home with Mr. Allie and two foster feline failures (that means she adopted them!)
  15. For the Love of My Dogs – Miss Deanna and her family inspire us for her tireless work at OUR animal shelter and her proactive efforts on issues like BSL.

Another great, inspiring, day.

Versatile Thursday

Hey It’s Jet Here.

You know the phrases humans say like, good karma, pay it forward, goodness will come back to you?  Well over the last few weeks, our blog feels like the bulls-eye for kindness.  We met Texas, A Cat in New York when our black pearl feline friend, Savannah, graciously gave us the Sunshine award, which Texas gave to her. Texas and I have dialogued a bit since then and he has a heart the size of which matches his name!  The friendly feline surprised us by bestowing the Versatile Blogger award on us last weekend!  Boy did we woo-woo/whoo hoo in delight!

Here are the rules:

  • 1. Thank the person who gave you this award
  • Since Savannah shared that you felines like paw pats… paw pats and a huge thank you for thinking of us!
  • 2. Include a link to their blog
  • Done!
  • 3. Select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly. Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award — you might include a link to this site
  • We tried to share the award with blogs newer to us… we’ve tried to expand to blogs other than wordpress… we had trouble posting comments on blogspot for a long time.  In no particular order:
  1. Puppy In Training – Mr. Colby shares lots of good info and pics…
  2. Raising Daisy – she’s a cutie that one!
  3. My GBGV Life  – Emma, the Debucher Baguette a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeén (say that 3 times fast!), is quite the lady!
  4. Dakota’s Den – The beautiful Dakota shares her daily life, including her feline brother, Cody!
  5. The (Mis)Adventures of Sage – Beautiful and fun loving, who could resist?
  6. Urban Hounds – Adorable K9s and NYC, slam dunk!
  7. My Life with Flyball Dogs –  We love their active lives, particularly dock diving and sand digging… a guy can dream…
  8. The Adventures of Higgins – we love his saying bombdiggity!
  9. Peaceful Dog –  Follow foster failures Fozzie and Lamar and fosters Miss Kirsten helps.
  10. Have Dog Blog Will Travel – the adventures of Celia Sue.
  11. Five Sibes  – While we were digging for their site, we read about Chloe, who tore her ACLs on both legs this past weekend.  They’re asking for all your good prayers thoughts and wishes.
  12. The Puppiness Project – Honey, the golden, is as sweet as her name… and her Mom is super insightful.
  13. GreyhoundGardens – With a tag line itsa greyt day, of course we like them!
  14. My Tail Hurts from Wagging Too Much  – never can wag too much!
  15. Kenzo Hovawart and Viva  – although we just met, we thought it was too cool to learn about a breed new to us… we thought they looked kind of like us in their pictures!!!

Another good goes round and round day.

Wowee Wow Wow

Hey It’s Jet Here.

What a week we’ve had.  It started a little rocky with Monday’s Mischievous remote control, however, by midweek, Ish’s eggs were in the fridge, we found that cool swimming elephant picture and received The Sunshine Award from Savannah and the Liebster Award from my adopted, Little Sister, Poppy.  We absolutely LOVE sharing and passing the awards forward.

Mom’s week went well, too.  After six, yes SIX visits to the Division of Motor Vehicles, she finally received her new driver’s license yesterday.  (the issues were all paper and eyesight related, not driving test related, in case you were worried!)  She caught up on this stuff called bank reconciliations which made her face turn purplish on Monday.  She had three unexpected good things happen in Kitchen Counselor world. And… despite last night’s Heat/Celtic game results (congratulations Celtics, well played), so far, our Heaters are up 2-1 in the series.

JJ, Mom, and I had a few good things happen together.  We made three constitutional walks, two at night and one in the morning before or in between bands of horrendous downpours.  You know how um… uh… ok PETRIFIED I am about storms, so, we consider any time we can get out during this type of weather pattern a victory.

During our Tuesday evening constitutional, we noticed a beige, waterlogged little cutie running across a yard into the street.  Mom cajoled (vocabulary builder) it (him after further investigation) to join us.  Mom checked his tag and learned his name was Gizmo.  He looked like a pug wrapped in apricot poodle fur!  The tag only had a phone number and we left our phone home. He kind of looked like this except he had much curlier, poodle fur and he was missing an eye.

Mom rang the first bell and a nice lady (mortified of K9s) agreed to dial the number and then pass the phone to Mom.  We left a vm.  Mom, JJ, Gizmo and I rang 2 more bells until we learned from Miss Kitty at the 3rd house she thought Gizmo belonged diagonally across the street.  We trekked over there and rang the bell.  A lady answered and confirmed Gizmo was hers.  She had looked and looked and needed a shower before looking more.

Mom told us how proud she was that we helped return a K9 to his loving family, creating a happy ending.

Another great week!

Fabulous Friday

Hey It’s Jet Here.

As if Thank You Thursday wasn’t wonderful enough (see special awarded blogs here), my adopted Little Sister, Fluffy Popcorn (Poppy to her friends,) bestowed the Liebster Award on my blog this week.  Mom and I admit we have always been curious as to what Liebster meant.  Poppy, ever the curious K9, and her super creative Mommy, dug around and found out:

“Like most people who have received the Liebster Blog Award, Mom Googled to find out what “Liebster” means. 😀 This was what she found. “Liebster” means “beloved”, “dearest”, or “favorite” in German. The origin of the Liebster Blog award is somewhat unclear but there’s a general consensus that the award originated in Germany. The award recognizes bloggers with fewer than 200 followers.”

When you’re a bit newer to the blogging world, receiving this award carries such deep feelings of appreciation, acknowledgement and welcome.  The rules of the Liebster Blog Award only allows us to select 5 bloggers to pass this award on to.  With that in mind, we wish to share and pay-it-forward to:

  • Savannah’s Paw Tracks  – A new friend who has taken the blogosphere by storm.
  • 2 Brown Dawgs Blog  – We cannot tell how many followers they have, however, they saved my sister, JJ’s life!
  • For the Love of My Dogs  – Miss Deanna saves K9s from the same place Golden Rescue South Florida sprung me from with 4 days to spare.  We admire her big heart and how she walks the talk to help K9s.  We hope we can meet her and the crew for a pack walk someday soon!!!
  • Kol’s Notes –  Mom cannot tell how many subscribers Kol has; poor Mom, she tries so hard to be tech savvy!  We love Kol’s writing style and find ourselves giggling every time we visit. Plus, Mom LOVES to read anything having to do with food, cooking, etc… (she is The Kitchen Counselor after all!)
  • The World According to Lexi  – Mom cannot tell how many subscribers they have.  We love Nitro’s story, his weekly park pictures, the farm pictures and what a special life Miss Christina provides for her 4 legged family members.

Hey:

Another great, thanks so much, day.
