Our Seventeenth Black & White Sunday: An Unexpected Visit with Austin

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Austin’s Mom called my Mom yesterday morning to see if she could swing by in the late evening to let Austin out.  Of course Mom said no problem and stuck around to give Austin lovies and… play with the Hannukah toys she gave him!

Our First Follow Up Friday…

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Our friend, Miss Jodi, created this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea.

Mom, Rachel, Puffy, JJ and I want to thank so many of our blog pals, friends and neighbors for their thoughtful words, texts and calls of love and support yesterday.   Rachel woke Mom up around 3:00 this morning, when she felt a wave of sadness.  JJ, ever the happy soul, encouraged lots of belly rubs while Mom and Rachel reminisced about Fluffy, Koko, Mugs, as well as Puffy, JJ and me.  Amongst the tears and tissues, giggles and laughter reached me as I listened cuddled up in the corner of Mom’s closet.

When speaking with Miss Linda of Savannah’s Paw Tracks and Miss Wendy, our Golden Rescue South Florida friend, Mom marveled at the level and speed of support and caring the pet blogging community provides… and few of us know or knew each other prior to blogging!

BSL opportunity for change fails in Miami.  Here’s a scathing (vocab builder) post about the results and one from our NBC station.

Oops, I did it again… we had another storm yesterday (of course) and Mom returned to a similar version of Mischief Monday.  She quietly fixed the apparatus and let it go because we all felt extra sad yesterday.

Mom spoke to Austin’s Mom on Wednesday and thanked her for her lovely note of appreciation.  Miss Judy said she may ask Mom to stop by and train her and Mr. Andy.  BOL!    Mom told Mr. Andy, (her employer), she misses Austin and might need a visit.  He smiled broadly and said anytime.   He told Mom Austin already misplaced his rope!

Another great, well, at least better than yesterday, day.

The Dating Game – Bachelor #1

Hey It’s Jet Here.

When Mom was young, she watched The Dating Game with her babysitters.  The premise:

A bachelor or bachelorette sat sequestered (vocab builder) behind a wall with three bachelorettes or bachelors sitting behind another wall.  The bachelor/bachelorette asked questions and the Host facilitated the answers.  At the end, the bachelor/bachelorette selected one of the contestants and they went on a swanky date, paid for by the show.  Many of the questions involved double entendres, jokes, funny voices and such.

Ever since JJ had her surgery last month, she’s become quite the cougar!  So, Mom and I decided to create our own dating game and see who you would select.  Today we start with Bachelor #1 – Austin W.

Austin W. – Man of Mystery

  • JJ has not met him, Mom has.
  • Slightly younger, probably 5 to JJ’s 6 ish.
  • Lives the life of a comfortable suburban K9.
  • Loves to catch Frisbees.
  • Loves playing in the backyard.
  • Does not enjoy social engagements with fellow K9s, loves attention from humans.
  • Only K9, shares family with outdoor feline.  Previously shared house with two other female K9s.
  •  Wears a Georgetown collar.
  • Likes treats, not that fond of his kibble.
  • Likes belly rubs.

Stay tuned for Bachelor #2, Simba.

Another great, match made in heaven, day.

P.S.  Speaking of Bachelors, when JJ visited Dr. Shaffer’s this week, Judy asked Mom if she had any good ideas for Champ.  Champ, an American bulldog mix, has camped out at the Paradise Animal Center B & B for over 5 months.  We don’t know the whole sad story yet, however, he’s one step from going to Animal Services and you know what that could mean.  Here’s his picture, let us know if you have any ideas… we will see if our area has a bulldog rescue.
