Since joining Casa Jet in 2008, the male/female ratio Paw-Jet was even; three guys: me, Puffy and Fluffy and three ladies: Mom, Rachel and Koko/JJ.  Sadly this year, I’m the lone male who must concoct Valentines wishes for all three ladies of the house.

jet's bellyI’ll begin with Mom.  Let’s see, I’ve already provided my belly at 4:55 a.m. for an opener.  Since she works from home today, (although she mentioned she has a bunch of outside appointments from morning until mid afternoon), I will have extra opportunities for cuddles and snuggles, which she adores.  Oh, oh… she removed a pack of chicken and a pack of lamb chops from the freezer last night.  I bet she’s cooking tonight!  If my hunch pans out (get it?  Pans out!!!), as her faithful Kitchen K9, we’ll have a fun time in the kitchen, too.  I won’t give away all my ideas, because you need to leave room for flexibility, living in the moment, you know… the genius that is K9!  (For those of you who know how much Mom LOVES basketball (UMiami is #3 right now, oh my gosh, first time EVER, and the HEAT… well Lebron has crossed over to hoops nirvana Paw-Jet right now… this weekend is All-Star break, so, our tivo will no doubt get a workout!  I love sharing hoops viewing with Mom; another great idea!)

nba all star 2013

Rachel, hmmm… she’s at her dad’s today… I’ll have to save up ideas for her this weekend.  I’ll visit her during TV time, leave her food alone, try not to bark during her long Sleeping Beauty teenage sleep sessions, and give her a few famous Jetty kisses.

Little Miss Isn’t Every Day Valentines Day, well; she’s easy peasy, a slam dunk, a no brainer!!! On today’s schedule – extra wrestling, paw cleaning (I gingerly and gently give Little Miss Spa Day a mani quite often), signaling Mom to give us one of Little Miss Chew Girl’s favorite dental treats after our evening constitutional.

golden valentines

What Mom?  You would like to write?  Ok.

valentine bow tie 2Jetty, thank you in advance for your Valentines gifts, you show us every day how much you love us.  Look away for a few lines, I want to share what I shall give to you today.  First of all my gratitude and love for joining my life; you bring joy, laughter, affection, mindfulness Paw-Jet, manly man swagger, a debonair style, care taking, and love each and every day.  On the tangible Paw-Jet side, how about a hard boiled egg, a kale stem, maybe some chicken/lamb tidbits, a hoof after our evening walk and a big brush/massage before bed!

valentine bow tie 3I’ve always found the fact that I give you your Heartworm meds on the 14th of the month, which in February coordinates with Valentines Day kind of funny… not the ha ha funny, the hmm, that’s interesting kind of funny.

Love you my boy and this year, it feels sweeter.  Mom.

Another great Valentines Day.

Little Miss Pouncerator

Hey It’s Jet Here.

pizap-com13579540599831_ipad-searchGuess what?  We’re very excited at Casa Jet this week because a mystery of the fun kind is brewing.  Follow along if you’re curious beginning with my BFF, Savannah’s post today.

Mom had another full weekend.  She actually asked for Saturday off… no post, no commenting, just resting and some work that needed attending.  I gave her time off for good behavior.  Of course we had spa day!

um basketballSunday, she visited Nana and Poppi, from early morning until late afternoon (4 hours of driving).  She told us she needed to lie down for thirty minutes before feeding us a slightly early dinner, taking us on a slightly early constitutional, grabbing a quick shower and then off to her first UMiami Basketball game of the season. (Thanks to Grandpa who shared his tickets!)

Halfway into our snuggle time, the bell rang and rang and rang, which means Ruby wants to visit!  Little Miss Door Greeter pouncing dalmationjumped off the bed with so much energy, enthusiasm, verve (VBP) and voice.   The only hitch?  She used Mom as her springboard!  Mom uttered a huge “OUCH” as Little Miss Rocket Launcher planted four paws and 60 lbs. of forward motion on various tender spots of her body.  Mom didn’t answer the door, so JJ returned within a minute or two and excitedly leapt into bed landing on Mom in almost the exact same places, causing another loud “OUCH” from poor Mom.

Later when Ruby and Mom walked us, Ruby told us that she thought an old woman had shouted “GET OUT” and ran home to her dad worried that something was wrong.  Mom explained what had happened and they discussed how Little Miss Pouncerator didn’t mean to hurt Mom.  As you can imagine, we do not have photos from this event… however, I’m calling unintended mischief on JJ!  (again!)

Another great golden launch day.

Follow Up Friday – Diamond Dog Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

30_30-badge2A1Before I begin, I want to share an exciting program we joined.  Chester, Gretel and Miss Jess from YDWWYW initiated a 30/30 Challenge (walk 30 minutes a day for 30 days) beginning New Year’s Day.  We’re kind of a shoe/paw in because we do that every day since we do not have a fenced in yard.  We liked the positive outlook and will try to walk more when we can.  This project ties in to some of the points we made on our Saturday post.

follow-up-fridayOur friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and has successfully turned her wonderful idea into a robust blog hop!

Saturday – Diamond Dogs

girls-best-friendGosh, so many of our pals resonated with the picture Mom received.  You thanked us for sharing the questions Mom receives often about sharing her life with two big (really? Little Miss Golden Tropic 2013 and I think we’re fairly midsized!) K9s and echoed her sentiments.  Blogville Rocks!

Sunday – An Unexpected Visit with Austin

4 bwAs the transcriptionist, Mom did not clarify that only MOM visited with Austin!  Many of you find Austin as manly man handsome and sweet as Mom does.  Remember, he was one of the Bachelors in Little Miss Dating Game’s collection!

Monday – Literary Mischief Part II

6Remember how we worried Miss Beverly would find out about Little Miss Book Club’s enjoyment of this month’s selection?  Well, Miss Beverly read the post, commented and proved why we love her so much!  “I, Miss Beverly, say that this looks like a very well-loved book… which makes me very happy!”  Nellie’s comment gave us a good chuckle, “Hmmm, That can’t happen here anymore at our house – Mommy gots an ereader. Now all she has to contend with is slobber…”

Tuesday – Wonderful Water

water w lemon limeOur first Tasty Tuesday post of the New Year hailed the virtues of water.  All our furpals gave paws up to their enjoyment of agua.  Most of the bipeds agreed; some preferring tea to the cold options to drink the recommended daily amounts.

Wednesday – Dancing in the New Year

1Thanks for your resounding compliments and enjoyment of Ruby and Little Miss Dancing with the Stars’ photo.  Some of our newer readers thought JJ was me!  Some of our long term readers worried that I didn’t get a turn.  Mom and I loved the moment; I did not feel left out or limited because of the Cone of Courage.  I’m mellower these days… maybe it’s the hypothyroid medicine, maybe it’s the two weeks of fireworks… who knows.

Thursday – Comic Book-ized Jetty Boy

kirby comic style thanksWe apologize for falling behind on comments again. You cannot see the great responses yet ranging from agreeing that Little Miss Marvel and I are superheroes to thanking us for introducing you to the talented creators, Kirby and his Mom!  Mr. Will asked how we did it… Lucky for us, Kirby and his Mom shared the tool because you know who is quite tech challenged!

Another great Diamond Dogs FUF day!

PS… Mom’s tummy ouchies have returned on top of her lingering cold/flu thingie… we have to dig out again… which… is taking us a bit longer because my Nana and Poppi have some major health issues going on and Mom is doing lots of attending… (They live 2 hours north!)  Thanks for bearing with Mom, she really appreciates it.  Jetty

Diamond Dogs

Hey It’s Jet Here.

One of the ladies in Mom’s biscuit earning office suite gave her this picture last week.

girls-best-friend

Mom found the saying so true; she placed it on top of her printer to see it clearly throughout her workday.  When she told Miss Mary Ann at the corner after our evening constitutional, Miss Mary Ann nodded her head and said she had seen that quote before.

girls best friend

I think I may have shared before that Mom waited over 30 years to share her life with a K9.  I’ve heard people ask Mom the following questions:

Don’t they shed?

sheddingMomYes, I totally don’t care; I’ve waited all my life to live with dogs.  We have tumbleweeds of different colors; my clothes remind me of their place in my life.  Fur adds protein to my dishes! That’s why they invented vacuums, lint rollers, sponges, paper towels, etc…

Don’t you mind getting up so early?

MomNo, I’m a morning person and I’ve adjusted to Jetty’s schedule by doing work earlier and then squeezing in a nap!

What about walking them in bad weather?

rainy day 6-23-12 006MomI will say that’s not my favorite occurrence, however, knowing you have to walk several times each day gets you up an out, reminds you to appreciate your surroundings, allows you to practice mindfulness, bonds you with your K9s, and makes you laugh… because what else can you do when you all look like soggy messes!  (I do wish I had a fenced yard with a doggie door!!!)

Do you resent having to interrupt your plans to take them out?

Mom: If I had a bigger family, this issue would be easier; however, I accept my promise and plan accordingly.

Don’t you find two big, hairy dogs too much?

9Mom: No, I’ve always been drawn to big, fluffy dogs.  I find petting their soft fur relaxing and calming.  I brush them most nights (JJ takes 5 minutes, Jetty about 20!)  Watching their bodies decompress (VBP) and their eyes close, trusting me to take care of them means a great deal.  When we walk, they make me laugh as they interact with the outside world.  I revel (VBP) in their enjoyment of the moment.  Also, it keeps my upper body strength strong!

Don’t they cost a lot?

Mom: Yes!  Have you heard a house referred to as a money pit?  And yet, the same homeowners will stand by their house like the Captain of the Titanic?  Same goes for furfamily members!

girls best friend 3

Ann’s Infographic the other day is a stark reminder of what you have in store when deciding to share your life with K9s (felines, too.)  For me, it’s a small price to pay for the invaluable experience of living with K9s.  I probably spend more on their food, treats, vet visits, accessories etc… than on myself at this point, due to changes in my financial condition.   I simply don’t care because the joy and mental wellness they bring to my life is… PRICELESS.

Another great “way to go” Mom day!

Follow Up Friday – Cone of Courage Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

follow-up-fridayOur friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and has successfully turned her wonderful idea into a robust blog hop!

Before I begin, may I write a BIG THANK YOU for checking on Mom and I to see how we’re feeling.  I’m kerplopping less out on our walks; however, I’m still rather uncomfortable.  Mom says I tolerate the first aid spray and the goopy medicine very well.  The Cone of Courage remains on 24/7 to defray (VBP) my desire to bite/scratch the area.  Mom seems to have improved about 20%; she continues to feel like her head is under water!  She kept her promise and rested a good bit last week.

Saturday – Merry Newfmas and Happy Houndlidays

ernieWe enjoyed participating in The Pet Blogger Gift Exchange hosted by the fetching Honey and Miss Pamela.  Many of you already knew our giftee, Newf and Hound, while several of you looked forward to meeting them.  Guess what?  Turns out my buddy, Snoopy, lives really close to Hazel, Ernie, Nooner and Foyle and wants to meet them!  Super cool!

Sunday – Cone of Courage

cone of courage 1We appreciated your feedback which ranged from acknowledging our efforts to “turn our frown, upside down” to making lemonade from lemons, etc… Mom asked me to share she’s glad you found the photo moving.  So many of you have my back on this one, I feel the love!

Monday – Scientific Mischief

human tangled in dog leashYeah, you could relate to Little Miss Bird Dog and my urges to uh… stray from the strict scientific endeavor of participating in this year’s annual Bird Count.  Glad you got a kick out of our Boa Leash maneuver!  Of course you understood our efforts to keep that arrogant Winchester in line!  My BFF, Savannah, requested a quill from that peacock, which, we will happily try to find when he next molts!

Tuesday – Tasty Tuesday Christmas Style

christmasWe wished our blogpal community celebrating Christmas the appropriate greetings and asked how to properly do so in a few cultures.  We learned that in a few countries, it’s proper to say Happy Christmas, as Merry Christmas might imply (VBP) debauchery!  We even learned how to send good wishes in Dutch from Suki, Hiro and Miss DiandaVrolijk Kerstfeest!

Wednesday – Now I’m a Leaping Lord

Wowee, wow wow!  Can you believe Miss Ann bestowed such a Royal title on ‘ol Jetty boy?  Thanks for the positive feedback on my new skills.  I think that I may be ready to learn the game of kings… POLO!  Several pals worried about my ego… I want to quash (VBP) the notion that I will change as a result of my recent Royal titles… I remain your humble Jetty.  If I begin to show any difference, Mom PROMISES to keep me in line!

Thursday – The Little Thingies

shameless conesSo glad you feel the same way about gratitude for the “basics” (which are really a big deal, especially for those of us who had “before” times we do not want to think about.)  We all agree to take time each day to remind ourselves of how fortunate we are.  I’ll remind you, if you remind me!

As for my digression regarding the recent appointment of a new Secretary of State, our friends at the DogDaz Zoo wrote, “And you are so right about a Golden for Sec of State.”  I really feel Bo’s Dad made a mistake – there, I said it again!

Another great Follow Up Friday holiday edition.

Merry Newfmas and Happy Houndlidays!

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Pet-Blogger-Gift-Exchange1When we read about Honey’s Pet Blogger’s Gift Exchange, we just knew we had to participate.  We emailed the fetching Honey and Miss Pamela and then… we found out our secret match, our pals at Newf and Hound!

Here are the rules:

  1. Share encouragement and compliments – Easy Peasy!
  2. Link up here – No problem!
  3. Share on any and all social media – Hmpf… as you know, Mom limits me to blog only!

When we first met long haired dachshunds, Ernie, Hazel and Nooner, we got a kick out of the fact that they shared their forever home with Foyle the Newfoundland!  You can read how that all came about here.  You know how Mom feels about fluffy fur, so, we were hooked right away.  Furthermore, they live in Mom’s favorite area of the U.S., San Francisco.

ernie

We love the diversity of subject matter, ranging from:

  • Their hiking adventures – you have to see the three petite Doxies keeping up with Foyle!
  • dachshund dressBucket Babe – Fashion.  Little Miss Fashion Plate ogled (VBP – Vocab Builder Project) the dachshund dress and thought a fall, auburn colored golden retriever pattern would look lovely, too!
  • DJ Track and Hound – they share playlists for different activities.
  • Foyle Fridays.
  • Nooner News.
  • 2012-12-17 Photo Transfer_5Crafts – This week’s project showed how to put the crew on wooden coasters with Mod Podge!
  • Training and Techniques – Check out the post where Foyle chases a coconut!
  • Treats and Food – we both posted reviews of chicken jerky on the same day! Great minds…
  • Letterpress posts show you how to make or where to purchase a variety of pressed prints or die cut items.
  • 6a0105358f3c48970b0134862ca249970c-500wiLandscape Design posts might discuss sustainable outdoor doghouses, planting a front yard garden or a water trough garden.  This topic appeals to our Kitchen K9 side as does the Treats and Food category!
  • One of our favorite categories carries the name – Make This Buy That.  No judgement, simply two options with links to resources.  We especially enjoyed the Raised Dog Feeder  and the Raised Dog Bed.  Mom would like to know if a handy manly-man arrives with the instructions!

We have to find out whether the NewfandHound’s human is affiliated with Etsy or simply enjoys viewing Etsy sites, because we read lots of Etsy references!  NewfandHound has a modern, clean format which we appreciate.  The tone of the writing stays modern too. (Their tag line is “We are 4 modern dogs living in a modern world! Join us on our adventures!” after all!) We would add the adjectives informative, creative, interesting, playful, and positive with gorgeous photos to boot!

Visit NewfandHound to see what Ernie, Hazel, Nooner and Foyle are up to.  Wish them a Merry Newfmas and Happy Houndlidays and let them know that Jetty sent ya!

Another great NewfandHound day!

Mom’s Promise to Puffy

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for sending such supportive and comforting comments over the last few days.  Mom promises to respond to each one; give her a few days.  Today, we share a proper tribute to Puffy, Puff, the Puffster, the Puffmeister, Puffarooni, Huffy Puffy, Puffaroo, ….

We’re staying on the lighthearted side; Puffy and Fluffy had promised to share their Real Story with my BFF (best feline friend), Savannah in her insprining series: Real Rescue Cats and Dogs are Talking, Life Changing Interviews with Savannah. Savannah will share their stories posthumously (VBP – vocab builder project).

… With one EXCEPTION:  When Mom and my human sister adopted the “boys” from Cat Network in 2003, Mom made a solemn (VBP) promise to them the very first night.  She looked into their beautiful feline faces and PROMISED them that from that day forward, they would never suffer again, they would live like Princes… and they did.

Puffy was this thingie called aloof (VBP – I’m on a roll today!).  Unless he was wrestling with Fluffy, chasing Fluffy, beating Fluffy to Mom’s 2nd office chair for the main snooze of the day, or perched in the high jalousie windows in the dining room or living room during the winter, he mostly avoided contact with humans and canines.

Puff always maintained his manly man dashing good looks, grooming himself frequently.  My Madrina (Godmother) always told Mom she loved the heart above his eye.  Here are some of Puffy’s best antics:

  • Too cool for treats and toys – Mom tried a diverse selection over the years, sometimes the newest and coolest… when it came down to it, he liked the occasional plant/flower (then threw up), cardboard boxes and kneading the plastic shopping bags to make just the right sounds.
  • “I only drink from regal receptacles” (VBP) – Puffy rebuffed (VBP) most water dishes, he required Mom’s Dansk ramekin (VBP) or preferably her sink with fresh running water as requested ON DEMAND multiple times throughout the day.
  • The Puppet Master – Oh did he boss Koko around… Puffy devised all sorts of Kitchen plots and found a way to involve the creature pleasing Koko. I have to hand this part over to Mom, as I had not joined the family yet.

Here’s one of my NOW favorite memories:

About 6-7 years ago, I made a 2 lb. turkey roast (you know the kind that has a net around it?) in my favorite Dansk loaf pan and had removed it to cool.  Locating it deep on my counter top to acknowledge the skills of my counter surfing golden girl, I left my house at 9 p.m. to take Rachel to her Dad’s house.  I returned exactly 15 minutes later.  Upon arrival, I found the pan in smithereens on the floor.  I cleaned it up avoiding foot and paw damage.  It then occurred to me that the roast was missing.

I was too tired to deal with that and decided to take a few minutes to collect myself in my room after giving Koko the extended version of the naughty speech.  As I approached my bed, I smelled an herbal scent and immediately located the roast remains on my PILLOW with a hunk missing.  I’ll leave the Koko details out at this time by saying she received another extended naughty speech peppered with a sprinkle of amazement and laughter in my head.

Months later, I’m watching TV in the family room and I see Puffy jump up onto the kitchen counter (the kitchen being the ONE place he was not allowed on the counters… MOL… if only I had a Kitty Cam back in those days!)  On the stovetop, he was batting something around using his front right paw as a hockey stick.  The light bulb went off!  I always wondered how Koko reached the roast.  Answer: Puffy cleverly pushed the turkey roast to a place where Koko could reach it.  She did the deed and received all the blame.  I imagined him lording (VBP) over her on the stovetop laughing in his head, saying “Cats Rule, Dogs Drool”!

Puffy at times courageously joined everyone on the bed. At night, his chosen spot fell right below, in between or on my feet.  Sometimes, when all the other fur family members were elsewhere and I was reading in bed, he would jump up and allow me to pet him for a while.  Sometimes he would cuddle up by my right hip where I could still reach his chin.  The only requirement: I couldn’t look at him; I had to stay focused on my book.

I respected Puffy’s need for distance and safety.  I loved him as he was and was so thankful he learned to trust me over time.  I considered all human interactions a victory.

Another Forever Puffy day.

Little Miss Golden Girl Got Her FIRST Naughty Speech

Hey It’s Jet Here.

**Mom’s putting a quick edit in to remind you that my friends from Chewy.com are having their Cyber Monday sale today!  No promo codes required!

Mom has wide flat feet that make her look a bit duck-like when she walks.  I’m not insulting her, I promise, she has “issues” with her feet.  Finding shoes is like a global treasure hunt.

When my human sister began attending summer camp in Maine, Mom found a shoe store (Coombs) near the original L.L. Bean in Freeport that carried companies she never heard of before.  Over the eight summers, she loaded up at that shoe store about three times.  Mom found unheard of “deals” in the store’s basement discount section!  The last visit reaped about four pair including sandals (almost never successful) and a pair of heels.  Now Mom wears heels about once a year, so the heels would last a good long time.

Unless… a certain golden furry creature decided to investigate the accessory.  I’m not certain how JJ discovered Mom’s heels as they rested in the same place for years.  Now, we’ve mentioned the several month old habit of JJ relocating Mom’s two pairs of sneakers all over the house.  To date, she’s never harmed them.  Look what Mom found last week:

The comparisons for evidentiary (VBP – vocab builder project) purposes (notice the slobber stains!):

Oh, Little Miss Happy Happy got her first serious naughty speech alright.  She even got repeats for a few days!  Until… Mom needed a photo for tonight’s post… picture perfect!

Another great, Little Miss Took Mom’s Heels day!

Follow Up Friday – Gratitude Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Before we begin, here’s last year’s Black Friday post!

Our friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and recently turned her wonderful idea into a new blog hop!  Check out her Dogs of Blogville Calendar and vote!  Proceeds from the upcoming sale will help 2 of our fellow bloggers hurt badly by Superstorm Sandy.

Saturday – A View from Above

After reading about the Puffster returning to drink from the “fountain of fresh water” otherwise known as Mom’s bathroom sink, many of you expressed your understanding and experiences when a loved one Crosses Over the Rainbow Bridge.  You see, ever since our Sweet Fluffy crossed in August, Puffy had not ascended (VBP – vocab builder project) to Mom’s sink, one of the places he and Fluffy visited together many times daily.

Thanks for the compliments on my wrestling move (the Disappearing Jetty), Little Miss Chewminator and I seem equally matched, I have more brawn, she has more strategic moves!  In the end, neither of us “win”, we enjoy the play.

Black & White Sunday – Greased Lightening

When I posted about the appearance of my racing stripes which ultimately led Dr. Schaffer to determine I have hypothyroidism, a few of you asked to see the racing stripes Mom described in the post.  Since my coloring fits into the theme of the Sunday Blog hop, she tried to highlight each stripe on each of my front paws.  Oh did you guys (Mom’s NJ term of endearment) get a kick out of them!  You also enjoyed Mom’s reference to the car, Greased Lightening, from the play/movie GREASE.

Mischief Monday – Keyboard Woes

I personally want to express my gratitude for your caring and creative suggestions regarding Mom’s now wacky keyboard issues.  The poor woman is sprouting grey hairs by the millisecond!  Now, I cannot report any scientific evidence, however, I’m happy to share that since all of you sent your positive vibes our way… the keyboard has played nice for two whole days!!!

Tasty Tuesday – Green Cigars

Lots of positive feedback on Mom’s recipe brought big smiles to her face. JJ and I, Mom’s faithful Kitchen K-9s, continue to surprise and delight you with our ambitious palates!  You enjoyed seeing us chomp on our collard green stems.  A few humans and a few fellow K9s thought they might like to try their respective parts of the veggie!  My turtle friends at Underneath the Shell, had a great idea; they love the leaves and we love the stems so why not share?!

Wordless Wednesday – Turkey: The Money Shot

Oh we fooled some of you who thought that was me patiently waiting? for a proper serving of the yummy bird.  Nope, Mom had NO intention of cooking a turkey since she had plans to ABANDON Casa Jet for Thanksgiving dinner.  Hmpf.  She enjoyed turkey at Miss Mary Ann’s house where my friend, Dixie, had a proper seat at the table.  Double Hmpf.  Thank goodness Miss Mary Ann loves us enough to send a turkey tidbit doggie K9 bag home with Mom.  Considering Mom fed us 2.5 hours late for dinner, sharing the tidbits with us after setting her keys down was the LEAST she could do.  Ah, heck, we loved the tidbits, loved Mom for giving them to us, enjoyed our dinner, had a breezy constitutional and a swell evening with Mom afterward!

Thankful Thursday – Unexpected Appreciation

Lots of you expressed interest and excitement about Snoopy’s upcoming book which Mom recently edited.  Don’t forget to place it on your holiday lists; a portion of the proceeds will go to therapy dogs.

You agreed with Mom and I that Snoopy and his Mum sent such a thoughtful gift.  You also resonated (VBP) with Mom’s perspective on gratitude.

Another great gratitude filled FUF day.

Follow Up Friday: Neve’s Birthday Stretch Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Our friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and recently turned her wonderful idea into a new blog hop!  Congrats!

Saturday: A Little Afternoon Rest

Mom captured a few pics of JJ and I taking an afternoon siesta.  Of course, Little Miss Fastidious (VBP – vocab building project) had to complete her pedi before resting.  So many of you understood the need for the fuchsia cheetah sheet; yes, I’m secure in my manly man-ness to rock pink!

Sunday: Neve’s Birthday in Black and White

Gotta love my blogpals!  You so graciously sent in bowlfuls of birthday wishes for my pack pal.  Miss Beverly appreciated your comments as well.  Because of the color saturation choice, a few of you thought the pasta sauce Mr. Giovanni and Neve hovered over was a cake!!!  Mom goofed and shared that Neve celebrated turning 6, when in fact she turned lucky 7!

Mischief Monday:  Destruct-O-Pup

We promised a mighty juicy follow up to our pack pal, Buddy’s, MM post the week before and you agreed that we did not disappoint.  Many humans wrote humorous comments as well as understanding the underlying cause of Buddy’s wave of mischief:  he probably was scared and lonely.  Thank goodness Buddy’s human parents are so laid back; they took his misadventures in stride.

Tasty Tuesday:  Plums Two Ways

We look forward to this post, since we get to share tidbits in preparation!  As Mom’s faithful Kitchen K9s, we appreciate your positive feedback.  Lots of readers learned that you can roast plums.  Mom provided a step-by-step link for the recipe to show you the process she followed when she prepared the dish for her UMiami Diabetic Peer Support Group.

Wordless Wednesday: Neve’s Birthday Stretch

Mom firmly believes in celebrating birthdays from the weekend prior to the weekend after.  We featured Neve getting a “lift” so she could enjoy water out of our elevated bowls!

Thankful Thursday: Recovery & More Catching Up

FINALLY, a heaven sent visit from Mr. Ron and Mom’s computer issues have abated (VBP) for the most part… sure she lost her calendar with her blog radio guest schedules for the next 6 weeks, sure she can’t exactly use her prior emails, (she can peak but cannot open, copy, respond to, etc…) but… she can open Outlook and move forward.  Baby steps!

We graciously accepted two sweet awards from our pals Clowie and Misaki.  Mom only allowed us one cupcake each; we’re going to request another today and the next day and the next day until they disappear!  We agree with several readers that the best part of the award process is learning more about our blogpals.

Another great, birthday sweet week!
