Thankful Thursday – The Little Thingies

Hey It’s Jet Here.

checklistMom mentioned that today marks the last Thursday of this calendar year.  She suggested I take stock of the little thingies I appreciate.  I compiled my complete list, which I’m afraid to start unraveling, since Little Miss Chewminator might get ideas!  I’ll share a few salient (VBP vocab builder project) points.

Of course, I’m thankful for life’s big thingies: safe forever home, abundant, healthy food, a loving family, a Mom who has a few biscuit earning places to go to, a great neighborhood pack and an amazing experience in Blogville.  I do not take these basics for granted because I did not have them in the “before” time.

Here are a few little thingies:

Blogpals like Miss Ann who sent Mom a link to Shameless Cones after reading about my most recent pyoderma occurrence.

shameless cones(They need to work on a manly man design!)

savvy-and-jet-sidebar-revBlogpals like Mollie and Alfie, Princess Zena, Lady Litchi, Savannah and Miss Ann who include me in their most creative endeavors.

My friends at Paradise Animal Center who take care of JJ and I: Miss Judy writes the kindest condolence cards and checks up on us multiple times after our visits, Dr. Schaffer tells funny jokes to take my mind off of the scary stuff (actually, he kisses me and scratches behind my ears, tells me I’m a good boy, etc…) and all the vet techs who love and care for us.

5Little Miss Happy Happy, who keeps me company and reminds me that the little things can really make your day; like wresting, snoozing, playing fetch, performing QC (quality control), birdwatching, window watching, sniffing, waiting for belly rubs, etc…

Speaking of Little Miss Winning Ways, I have a small bone to pick with Bo’s dad.  It has come to my attention that a certain Mr. John Kerry will become the next Secretary of State.  While I’m sure Mr. John will conduct himself in a way befitting of our nation, we think Bo’s dad overlooked the most stellar candidate.

Bias aside, Little Miss Foreign Relations, could have continued the high standards set by females, Miss Hilary and Miss Madeline.  Who, I ask, who could resist the sweet face, the proactive paw shaking, the diplomatic presence of Jasmine Joy?

Her name suggests it all – Jasmine of the Princess line for those countries with Royal families, Joy of body, mind and spirit to deal with the challenging issues facing much of the globe from a positive, sweet disposition.  I’m slightly disappointed… there, I said it.  What, Mom?  I digressed again?  Oops.

Another great little thingies day.

  1. Oh we all have so much to be thankful for Jet. Yo said it wonderfully. And you are so right about a Golden for Sec of State. That would make the world so much brighter. Happy New Year to you and the wonderful pack you adore.

  2. Hiya Jetty! You’re right, sometimes we dawgs need to stop and sniff the little things and you’ve mentioned some good ones here…just not sure about that photo of you & JJ in the strange cone getups BOL! Iz thankful fur getting to know you, JJ and Miss L…you always brighten my day *snoogles*

    • Hey Giz, Jetty here. Hi Miss JG.

Mom couldn’t find a pic this morning with both of us… you missed the late spring time when we both had cones on… me with my pyoderma thingie and Little Miss Pyometra, after her emergency surgery.

WE feel exactly the same about you and Miss JG! 🙂

  3. What a wonderful list of thingies you have to be thankful for Jetty. it’s a wise mom you have there, it’s always good to take stock of what we have. And so easier to be grateful than to whine about what we don’t have.

  4. Hey Jet!! It’s Oz. Those are all wonderful things to be thankful for! What a lovely post for the last Thankful Thursday.

I am thankful that we have met through this great blogosphere and I look forward to more blogging fun with you in 2013.
    Your pal,
    Oz

  5. “Aww Jetty, I am so glad you are having nice little check ups with your nice vet so everything is A-Ok, it always shows through quite obviously how much your ma cares for you and will go to any length for you my Jetty pal. As for birdwatching, I also enjoy it as well. Though a weird sensation often comes over me where I don’t know whether I want to to play with it, or I hate to say it…but maybe swing it around in my mouth a bit? I know I know it is a terrible thought but one I get sometimes, I think it’s a dog thing, either way I will never be able to catch one, so no worries there!” – Kirby

    • Hey Kirby, Jet here.

Wish you could meet the folks at Paradise, their pawesome… and Mom… what can I say…

Dude, I think your instincts are most natural… given a fence, Little Miss Bird Dog and I would be out there trying to do the very same… today we had a gorgeous blue macaw with a yellow belly squawking nearby… huge wingspan…

      • Wow so colourful, and bright!… You can see wild Macaw’s?!!! Whoa! How nice! I sure wouldn’t know what to do with that though. Except for humans I don’t like any animal who thinks its smarter than me,that includes parrots! They are pretty though aren’t they?!

      • Hey Kirby, Jet here.

Indeed… here’s the thingie… we live down the street a bit from the former Parrot Jungle Attraction. They moved it near downtown Miami about 5-8 years ago. During the 40 years the attraction was in the ‘hood… many of the avians escaped, according to rumors… so now our area has many parrots, macaws, and other tropical birds that have reproduced in the “wild” (suburbs) Photographers come from all over the world to see the wild flocks! Who knew?

      • Wow that is remarkable! That is quite cool, I guess they learned to adapt there, and now I guess there are many more beautiful birds to enjoy! You must take a picture of some and put them up one day so I can see!

      • Hey Kirby, Jet here.

If only Mom had a super duper lens! I think she may have a picture from a few years ago when the neighbors rang the bell and said the macaw was in her loquat tree! (We lost that tree in Hurricane Wilma!)

    • Hey Lee, Hey Phod, Jet here.

Yes, running water is vital and special. We always remind ourselves how thankful we are for power, since we lose it so often. Yes, we try to remember and give quick thanks each day… usually when we’re snuggled in bed at night! 🙂

  6. Hi Jet, So many things to be thankful for this year. I’m so thankful for my family who loves me and my boy that is going to fight in the Army for our great country. Thankful for blogging friends like Jet who come to my blog and say nice things. Thankful for the snow and for a New Year that is coming fast.

    • Hey Missy, Jet here.

Oh, Missy, what a super terrific list… especially about your boy… remember, give him lots of Jetty kisses and JJ hugs, ok? Ah, we so appreciate connections with lovely pals like you, too. 🙂

    • Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Roberta.

Well thank you very much. Glad you agree with me about JJ! Thank you, enjoy the holiday weekend! We like the cone idea, but, I need a more manly man design!

    • Hey PZ, PJ here.

So glad you enjoyed it. Oh my goodness… Ms. Producer your endeavors are hardly “little”! We have ideas up our paws for you in 2013! (starring PZ and her faithful, bodyguard of course!) We really try to focus on gratitude, especially over the last 4-5 years of challenging economic times.
