Follow Up Friday – The Puffster Edition

Hey It’s Jet Here.

follow-up-fridayOur friend, Miss Jodi, Heart Like a Dog, initiated this great idea to update readers on previous posts.  She created a lovely badge to go with her idea and has successfully turned her wonderful idea into a robust blog hop!

I’ve got Mom transcribing my responses to your comments swiftly and thoughtfully… even though she came down with this “cold thingie” from the biscuit earning place.  We’re getting there…

Saturday – Mom Took the Pledge

tidy cat litterWell, it turns out that many of you have taken similar pledges to celebrate the holidays in alternate ways.  We enjoyed reading the points that resonated with you most as well as your creative ideas.  Some comments expressed excitement to pursue the options presented.  Keep us posted; we’ll do the same.  Oh and in sad irony, the one black Friday purchase was returned for reasons Mom never expected this week.

Sunday – Like a Pig in Mud

The Black & White Sunday Blog Hop could not have been more perfect to show off my enjoyment of our first experience at the Tropical Bark Park.  Take:

  • One handsome manly man K9 with fluffy black (with a smidge of white) fur,
  • Add lots of dirt,
  • Mix with wet, black, ooey gooey mud
  • And you get a Joyous Jetty Boy who will endure Spa Day upon returning home!

Mischief Monday – LMP Loses Her Title Due to a Beige Shoe

4The ladies in Blogville sure got behind Mom on this one!  Little Miss Perfect moved from simply relocating Mom’s sneakers to removing Mom’s one and only pair of emergency, semi-comfortable heels and redesigning one of them.  A debate remains as to whether in K9 parlance (VBP – vocab builder project) this means JJ has the shoe “gene”.

Tuesday – Sad News and Good Mews

Unfortunately, we began our post with the sad news that Puffy had unexpectedly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge Monday Morning.  Miss Linda and my BFF (best feline friend) Savvy from Savannah’s Paw Tracks had already alerted Miss Ann from Zoolatry by the time Mom returned home from the biscuit earning place.  In Mom’s inbox was this beautiful badge and on our blog kind and thoughtful comments poured in from around the world.  Thank you, it really helps.

Puffy Forever

We also shared Good Mews Feline Shelter’s Cookbook info.  This no-kill, cage free shelter will take the book profits and use them to help the felines in residence – PAWESOME.  Mom contributed a recipe for the book, btw!

Wordless Wednesday – We Feel the Love

https://heyitsjethere.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/sending-love-5.jpg?w=150&h=94Comments continued to land in our inbox comforting us about Puffy’s crossing.  We  feel wrapped in love, support and comfort from our Blogville extended family.  You all continue to amaze us with your thoughtfulness and support.

Thankful Thursday – Mom’s Promise to Puffy

Thanks for reading a rather long (even for us!) tribute sharing some memories and photos of Puffy.  So many of you commented that after reading you felt like you knew him; we could not have asked for better feedback!  A few of you inquired about his additional mischief… I’ll see if I can get Mom to move some memories from the back of her head to the front and share them over the next while!

Another great supportive day.

    • Hey Clowie, Jet here.

Clowie, Mom couldn’t snap fast enough when I plopped down in the gooey black, wet mud! Let’s just say the shower floor was covered in really dark water!!!

      Have a great weekend yourself!

  1. Sorry to hear about Puffy. 😦

Sorry to read about the shoes. 😦

We don’t shop Black Friday, but we try in our own little way to go out and help the economy so I do shop. However these days my gifts are more for my 4-legged friends. 🙂

    • Hey Brown Dawgs, Jet here. Hi Miss Linda.

Sorry we’ve been MIA for a while… (get it MIA from MIA!!! BOL… I’m on a roll today, must be newish my hypothyroid pills!)

Thanks for acknowledgement of Puffy’s crossing, we’re getting accustomed to a Casa Jet without felines. Another shoe fan… you ladies are cracking ‘ol Jetty boy us this week! Who knew?

Yes, it’s great to support the economy, local if possible… we’ve done a bit of that this week to. We’ve focused on the basic necessities though… ok, and a few little gifts… ok… and our necessities include DENTAL TREATS… yup, we’re spoiled K9s!

    • Hey Rudy, Hey Jeffie, Jet here. Hi Miss Sue.

No worries, we seem to always be behind! Yup, the ladies have sure felt for Mom’s shoe situation this week… must be in the genes!!! That’s why FUF is so fantastic… you get caught up in one lump post!!!

  2. I wanted to take a moment to offer my sympathies regarding Puffy. There is really nothing I can say except I’m so sorry for your lose. If there is anything I can do please just ask. Even though we know that we will most likely out live the sweet little soul we bring in to our home there is no way to be prepared. Whether it happens suddenly or after a long illness we are never ready to say good bye. Even years after losing my Brady, I sometimes expect to see him when I come through the door. As the years go by, and as I love other four legged babies I remember Brady with a fondness and joy that will only be match when I again lose those who love me unconditionally. We share a special bond with our four legged family and even though we are parted, they live forever in our hearts. You promised Puffy that he had found his forever home. And you keep that promise even now, as he lives forever in your heart.
    Purrs to you,
    Mistletoe, Hitch and huMom, Dorothy

    • Hey Mistletoe, Hey Hitch, Jet here. Hi Miss Dorothy.

Your words perfectly describe our situation with Puffy and in the recent past with Fluffy and last year with Koko. How you express your experience with Brady reminds Mom of her experience with my golden sister, Koko. We appreciate your thoughtful words of comfort and support, they mean so much.

  3. We will have to study alternative ways to celebrate the Holidays. The Mom isn’t real big on Christmas anymore. Mommy got a kick out of Jet rolling around in the mud (it reminded her of her Border Collie Sir Lass), mainly because I don’t like to get wet or muddy. Mommy says I am very odd for a dog but that she LOVES this about me. ~Fenris

    • Hey Fenris, Hey Socks, Hey Scylla, Jet here. Hi Miss Alasandra.

That’s so cool about Sir Lass. Not sure if you know this, but, we think I’m a cross between a flat coat and a border collie. Little Miss Social Butterfly does not care to roll in the dirt either, although, a good puddle… (she is a golden after all!)

Yeah, Mom gets a little overwhelmed with the holiday frenzy.

  4. Hi Jet & Lori…Gizmo & i know it’s been a tough week for you all. WE hope that all the love and support you’ve been getting from all your anipals in the blog world has made it just a little bit easier.

    • Hey Giz, Jetty here. Hi Miss JG.

Oh gosh, it’s meant the world to us… sometimes at Casa Jetty and nearby, some humans don’t “get” how it feels to lose a fur family member. A few of those humans who may or may not be related to Mom said some dumb inappropriate things even though they didn’t realize it.

  5. Oh dear. I’m so sad (as you must be as well) to hear about Puffy. I feel even worse, that I’m only getting around to commenting about this four days late! Oh how your hearts must be hurting right now, but I do hope you know that the Fluffster is in a better place and will be waiting for you at the bridge.

BTW, thanks for participating in FUF, (I feel silly thanking you in the midst of your grief.) I am sending Sampson and Delilah hugs and kisses.

    • Hey Sampson, Hey Delilah, Jetty here. Hi Miss Jodi.

No worries, you’ve been doing such fine work on the calendar. Actually, this time, it’s the Puffster crossing *OTRB* to meet up with the Fluffster, who sadly crossed in August. We love that you enjoy their nicknames as much as we do. 🙂

Oh please do not, even at sad times, all emotions are on the table so to speak… moving along is part of the process. We just LOVE FUF…

We graciously accept Sampson & Delilah’s hugs and kisses, they really help you know. 🙂

    • Hey FOW, Jet here.

Yeah, even though the week was rough, we here at Casa Jet believe whole heartedly in the gift of laughter… yup, the shoes were a big hit this week. As a manly man, I’m really confused by that… Mom says its a Mars/Venus thingie. 🙂

  6. Woof! Woof! Happy Friday to you. Golden Thanks for all the updates. Golden LAUGHS on JJ. You guys did a wonderful job helping Snoopy n mom with the Mischief book. We did a review and its posted on our blog, check it out. Happy Weekend. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

    • Hey Sugar, Jet here.

Wowee wow wow, we’re so excited about the book, Mom bragged about it at the biscuit earning place this morning!

So glad you enjoyed, will pop over right now… it’s a win-win-win-woof! We’re posting about it for tomorrow.

      Have a great weekend, too.

  7. Oh my dear, sweetest Jetty and Mom, I cannot believe I missed such incredibly sad news. I am so sorry to hear about Puffy and so sorry I have been absent from Blogville so as not to send you my strongest thoughts and deepest prayers for strength during this horribly difficult time. My heart breaks for you. I am thinking of you and wish there was something I could do to help but my thoughts are with you and I’m here to talk to if you need to.

    • Hey Lady Litchi, Hey Sabre, Hey Boks, Jetty here. Hi Miss Susan.

Oh no worries at all, we know you’re there and feel your thoughts, prayers and strength. We can feel the love half a world away. 🙂 Mom keeps looking for Puff for a second here and there and has robotically gone to feed him even though she’s removed his food, dish, litter box etc…

The good news is that we’ve shared some of Puffy’s things with a person who does not have many resources. The balance will go this week to a woman who works in the same building as Mom’s biscuit earning place. She is super involved in one of the most active feline rescues in our county.

      • It’s one of the hardest things, when you find yourself still automatically doing things for the animal. My previous dog used to love the crusts off my toast and it took me years to stop leaving the crusts for her. It’s only recently that I’ve got to eat a whole piece of toast again. Glad you can feel the love because it’s definitely being sent your way, in very large bundles.

      • Hey Lady Litchi, Hey Sabre, Hey Boks, Jet here. Hi Miss Susan.

Bundles received and so deeply appreciated. 🙂

Oh, that’s quite something, we become such creatures of habit. I guess it’s those moments that keep the memories with us and felt at those times. 🙂
