Mischief Monday: Hide and Seek

Hey It’s Jet Here.

For the last few days, Puffy, JJ and I played Hide and Seek with Mom.  We looked high and low for Mom, taking rests in between.

We checked out her usual spots…

The kitchen…

The garage…

The family room…

The office including mancave #1…

The bedroom…

The bathroom…

And then we had a Pow-Wow where I, Detective Jetty, reminded them about this clue…

Uh oh… MOM left us!  Ok, in fairness, we had a super time with our special friend, Miss Angela. And… it was Mom’s first vacation day from work in 17 months!  When she returned last night and gave us tons of lovies while explaining that she went to this place called Cleveland for her summer camp reunion (after 35 years)… we forgave her for making us look so long to find her!

Thanks to Alfie’s BlogSnoopy’s Dog BlogMy Brown Newfies and Luna, A Dog’s Life…for sponsoring the hop!  Click on any of the sponsors to join the hop.

Another great Cleveland Camp Truda reunion day!

    • Hey Lady Litchi, Hey Sabre, Hey Boks, Jet here. Hi Miss Susan.

You hit the nail on the head, according to Mom. They sang old songs, they caught up on each other’s lives, they laughed so hard sharing old camp stories their ribs hurt! Yes, she does, she works really hard and times have been tough over the last year at Casa Jet… so, yeah… we did the right thing and let her go! 🙂

      • Oh it sounds fabulous. I just had one of my bestest ever university friends come through for a weekend (she lives in Aussie now) and we got the old group back together. Nothing quite like it! Hope the ribs recover but it is so worth it!

      • Hey Lady Litchi, Hey Sabre, Hey Boks, Jet here. Hi Miss Susan.

How special! Yes, Mom’s ribs are back in place and she’s smiling with her memories! 🙂

    • Hey Fred, Hey Gloria, Jet here. Hi Miss Janet.

She saw over 30 people, most of whom she had not seen in 35 years! The Camp Director and his wife (her former counselor!) surprised the group on Friday night. She said everyone’s jaw hit the ground… I don’t really get that, however, she said Miss Janet would. Her camp was in Maine, and people came to Cleveland from as far as California, NY, DC, Florida, Pennsylvania and Maine!

    • Hey Amber, Jet here.

Figures a petite lady like you would come up with such a brilliant idea! The only give-away is that when they weighed her bag, the scale would set off alarms!!! 🙂

    • Hey Clowie, Jet here.

We went bazonkers! We woofed, we rolled over, we wrestled to show off, we I howled, we asked to play, etc… and Mom loved it! (even though it was very late)… Mom said we were bouncing off the walls. Just to make sure she was still home, I woke Mom at 1:45 a.m. and 4:25 a.m.!

  1. Hey Jet,

I hope your Mom had a fab time – if only they’d tell us when they were leaving and then we wouldn’t waste so much time looking for them? Maybe she thought if you knew, you’d get up to too much Mischief?! 🙂

Glad she’s back to you guys though 🙂

    Have fun,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

    • Hey Snoopy, Jet here.

Dude, she really did, she came home with a big smile on her face. Exactly, she wanted to keep us in the dark for a bit to exercise our detecting skills, make sure we didn’t get too sad, and to prevent extra mischief!

      We are too.

      Liked your Halloween entry btw…

  2. Thank you Jet, Puffy & JJ for loaning us your mom! We were so happy to be with her and I think she had a pretty good time, too. She told us all about you guys.

    • Hey Sophie, Jet here. Hi Miss Mary Ellen.

Did she take good care of you? She said she had a super special time and the plane rides with you made the trip even better! Really, really??? Did she show you lots of pictures as a good Mom should?

She told us about Sophie and how you gave her a forever home. Thank you.

Sending Jetty kisses and JJ hugs to you… oh, she just mentioned that you guys will plan a play date with us in Broward, whoo hoo!!!!

  3. Hey Lori, Didn’t know you were a Buckeye. I am originally from Akron. Jets, I haven’t abandon you. Jack and I read your blog every day, but I am still not feeling too well and haven’t been commenting. Love and pets to you and JJ.

    • Hey Jack, Hey Ginger, Jet here. Hi Miss Rebecca.

Nope, Mom’s from NJ, although my human grandpa attended Ohio U!

OMD, that’s yucky, icky, terrible, very bad news. You must accept Jetty kisses and JJ hugs immediately… plus, we highly recommend putting some fresh ginger in your chicken soup.

Hope we bring a little smile to you each day as well. Love and pets right back. 🙂

    • Hey Misaki, Jet here.

Well, you know I have a detective certificate from Scooby Doo Academy, so, I exercised all my detecting skills to make sure we did not overlook anything!

Mom asked me to share that the weekend was beyond any expectations, it was simply put – special. 🙂

  4. Hi sweet Jetty – Lucky Miss Angela who got to spend time with you, JJ and Puffy – I know you all missed Mom but I was so happy she got to go away! And you know how happy it makes me to see your pictures-I just shout out loud with joy!!!! I just wanna kiss your faces and hug you up!!

    • Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Wendy.

Oh yes, we behaved very well for her.

Go ahead, we love your hugs and kisses Miss Wendy… before you know it, the GRSF reunion will be upon us!

Mom asked me to share that she appreciates your understanding that she deserved a short time away. 🙂

    • Hey Missy, Jet here.

We think our comment on your blog went through, let us know if it did not.

Oh for sure they are… I mean, let’s talk the basics – food, water, walks, and BELLY RUBS!

  5. Well, at least you looked for her! Blueberry does not try to “find” me when I am gone. She just goes with the flow I guess.

Glad your mom is back and things will get back to normal! It’s nice when us humans can get away – cause then when we come back we feel the guilt and lavish even more attention on our little critters! So soak it up! 🙂

    • Hey Blueberry, Jet here.

Boy you humans really think along the same wavelength! Yup, Mom’s giving us extra lovies for sure.

BOL… Blueberry just goes with the flow. (Truthfully, I think we do as well, however, that does not make for a MM post!!!)

    • Hey Benny, Hey Lily, Jet here.

She was light on the presents dept., however, since she spent the weekend, chatting with the ladies (and Mr. Charlie) and not in stores, we’ll forgive her. Plus, she gave us a smidge of homemade pumpkin bread one of her friends had her pack for the plane ride home. 🙂

    • Hey Boomer, Hey Dottie, Jet here. Hi Miss Emily,

Yes, it was, took JJ, Puff and I to figure out this was going to go longer than a game.

Oh yes, she already has, especially the lovies part! 🙂

  6. Your Mom went to CLEVELAND??!! Your Mom is from CLEVELAND? What camp? Why did I not know that your Mom is from Cleveland!!??? MY MOM IS FROM CLEVELAND!!!! Mom wants DETAILS! Barks and licks and love, Dakota

    • Hey Dakota, Jet here.

Yes, Mom visited Cleveland this past weekend, however, she hails from NJ! She attended Camp Truda in Oxford, Maine (the camp closed in 1978 😦 )… One of the camp owners, Ed Dibner, was a guidance counselor in Cleveland and recruited heavily from Beechwood, Pepper Pike and Shaker.

  7. Mom always tells us when she leaves but sometimes she puts us outside and while we are out playing our guest(s) human and/or canine leave. If this happens we search the place from top to bottom and then are mad because we did not get to say good bye!

    • Hey Emma, Jet here.

Mom asked me to share that she thinks that’s a good strategy, and understands how you must feel when you discover her absence.

Mom says a quiet, subtle goodbye, the big black thingie on wheels gives her away.

  8. Cleveland! That;s where we live! I can’t believe your Mom was so close! I hope she had a blast at her reunion! If she’s ever in town again we have to meet up!

    • Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Jackie.

Thanks for visiting, Mom’s a little backed up, so, sorry for the delay. Please share your site so we can visit back!

Oh, thank you for understanding how JJ and I felt!

    • Hey Sampson, Hey Delilah, Jetty here. Hi Miss Jodi.

Yes, we were loved by Miss Angela… (and spoiled… and had lots of Spanish lessons!) Mom said something about rejuvenation, too… you’re such a smarty Miss Jodi! 🙂
