Hey It’s Jet Here.
Before we begin, to those that celebrate the New Year today, Shana Tovah; wishing you a Sweet New Year.
Continuing our week of Koko memories… before I joined the family, during Fall 2007, Mom prepared to teach one of her UMiami interactive cooking classes – Cupcake Chic and Other Baked Treats. As usual, she prepared her groceries to load into the car. She left the non-perishable groceries from Publix (flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda) by the kitchen/garage door and ran out to Whole Foods (then Wild Oats) for the few remaining items needed. The Wild Oats roundtrip took less than 15 minutes.
As always, Koko, Mom’s original Kitchen K9, greeted Mom upon her return. The Mischief? Koko looked like she had participated in a bobbing for apples contest, except instead of water and apples, the bowl was filled with goopy white stuff! Wagging ferociously, Koko’s face, up to her eyes, was caked in white stuff. Her whiskers looked like white Christmas tree limbs with white teardrop shaped ornaments hanging on the end of each branch/whisker. The tile floor had a pasty white coating.
It took Mom a few minutes to digest the scene. She finally connected the evidence and deduced (vocab builder project VBP):
- Koko face planted into the 5 lb. flour bag, ever the curious K9.
- She tried licking off the flour and it got too sticky in her mouth.
- She drank water to help, which combined with the flour to make paste.
- Still curious, she may have repeated procedure.
- The flour bag tipped over and the grocery bag went horizontal, spreading flour onto the floor.
- Water from the bowl or Koko dripped onto the floor making more paste.
Mom really wanted to give the NAUGHTY speech, but could not help or stop laughing. She ended up giving Koko an unscheduled quick spa day. She had to use a bench scraper to help remove the paste from the tiles, replaced the flour and made it to class on time!
The only regret? No pictures! This was pre-digital camera or smart phone.
Another great and rare Koko Mischief day!
That is some pretty good mischief, guess Koko wants to be a chef like her mom
urban hounds
Hey Urban Hounds, Jet here. Hi Miss Kate.
BOL! Good one, chef like Mom… Koko would have loved going to class with Mom for sure, she was such a people K9!
Ha ha ha! We can just picture that scene. I’m glad your mom could laugh about it!
Bunny
Hey Bunny, Jet here. Hi Mr. & Mrs. T.
Oh Bunny, she says laughter makes the world so much better. 🙂
LOL!!! I’d have been like you – laughing too hard to lecture! 😀
Hey Daisy, Jet here.
From Mom to your human, glad you understand… it was a classic case of immediate upset turning into hysterical laughter. I knew it would be a great story forever after. 🙂
Wish your mom had pictures! Sounds like Koko made a big mess but we bet she was having fun while she was exploring the flour!
Happy MM!
Hey Teddy, Hey Scout, Hey Ash, Jetty here.
Mom giggles just thinking about it all these years later!
OMG that is too funny! I wouldn’t of been able to get a naughty speech out either!
Hey Leroy, Hey Sherman, Jet here. Hi Miss Jen.
Dudes, can’t wait to see all the goofy human stuff today!
From Mom to Miss Jen. Glad you understand my lack of discipline! 🙂
That’s some funny Mischief Dude – wish your Mum would have had her camera there, bet it looked really funny!! 🙂
Wags to all,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Hey Snoopy, Jet here.
Mom said that the image will forever remain in her mind’s eye!
It’s always hard to get mad when your laughing takes over. It just figures, no camera! Darn!
Hey Fred, Hey Gloria, Jet here. Hi Miss Janet.
So true Miss Janet, best way to get through the day. Mom was totally bummed about the camera, too.
MOL MOL MOL
Well done Koko! Make the humans laugh and they will forgive you 😉
Purrs
Hey Texas, Jet here. Hi Miss Carine.
On her behalf, I will answer for Koko… a foolproof strategy! 🙂
That sounds like a hilarious mess.
Hey Roxy, Hey Torrey, Jet here. Hi Miss Mary.
Mom asked me to share that your description fits to a “T”!
Happy New Year to you! (I think you observe?) This is Cody, Dakota’s brother and I have a recipe for Jewish Apple Cake on my blog today!! http://opcatchat.blogspot.com/2012/09/have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too-with.html what great timing!
Hey Cody, Hey Dakota, Jet here. Hi Miss Caren.
Yes we do and L’Shana Tovah! Hope Miss Caren shared some apples with your brother Dakota with a smidge of honey for a sweet New Year. I know you would prefer fish or chicken, no worries, that works too!
Thanks for sharing the apple cake recipe! Mom enjoyed a gluten free one at her sister-of-the-heart’s gathering. We’re waiting for the recipe… it was made with almond flour and scrumptious!
We would be happy if she cooked right here in our kitchen
Benny & Lily
Hey Benny, Hey Lily, Jet here
Gotta secret… Mom LOVES the state you live in! So… maybe a well placed invitation and… who knows??? BOL!
I’ve never tried flour! It sounds interesting.
Hey Clowie, Jet here.
From what Koko shared with me years later, it’s very sticky and makes your tongue hard to move!
My biped has reminded me that I did shred a bag and shake it around once. It made me sneeze and she was there before I tried eating it!
Hey Clowie, Jet here.
Sounds like a Monday Mischief post to me! BOL!
Oh poor mom and poor Koko! I imagine she must have some sort of anxiety trying to get that flour off. Did the flour glue her eyes shut? Thankfully Delilah Mischief hasn’t done that, although I wouldn’t put it past her. She did eat 3/4 lb of butter once, wrappers and all!
Hey Sampson, Hey Delilah, Jetty here. Hi Miss Jodi.
No, she only had the sticky stuff up to the bridge of her snout! Oh, Miss Jodi, Mom has several more Mischief stories from Koko!!!
It is a shame there are no pictures. It sounds like koko had great fun bol:-)
ps. I have something for you over on my bloggy! http://wp.me/p2h87n-jf
Hey Misaki, Jet here.
Wowee wow wow! We appreciate your kindness, wrote a thank you for the award on your blog! 🙂
Hey Misaki, Jet here.
Big bummer for sure…
HILARIOUS!!! I’m so glad mom’s sense of humor is intact. 🙂
Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Flea.
Mom asked me to share that humor is the best way to go through life!
Hey Jet! It’s Oz.
That sounds like one BIG mess…definitely in the top spot of Mischief Monday!!! It’s too bad she didn’t get photos. That would have been a sight to see!
Hey Oz, Jet here.
Yup, Mom is a bit slow to the technology stuff… she wishes she had bunches more pictures of Koko.
We agree, top mischief of the week for sure!!!
Hey Jet! It’s Oz.
My mom feels the same way about pictures. She doesn’t have nearly enough (or so she says) of the doggies she had before me. I guess it is why I have to suffer through all her photography and posing me with all sorts of crazy stuff! BOL
Hey Oz, Jet here.
BOL… what we do for our Moms… I must admit, I like knowing that she has lots of pics now… but… only after the fact… at the time, it’s kind of a pain!
Oh no! BIG mischief!
Hey Murray, Jet here.
Big Mischief begets big laughs from Mom!!! 🙂
Can’t complain with what your Mommy did…tho it was very naughty but very funny too 😆
Hey Kroten, Hey Papoe, Jet here. Hi Miss Novroz.
Mom thought the same thing, Koko just looked too funny!
Hi sweet Jetty – thanks for sharing the story of Koko getting into the flour – the image made me laugh and filled my heart with joy thinking about how silly and playful Koko was.
sending goodnight hugs and kisses to you, JJ, Mom, Rachel and Puffy xoxoxox
Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Wendy.
Oh, she was a hoot Mom says… she’s got about 5 more mischief stories “in the bag” to share!
Sending midday Jetty kisses and JJ hugs to you, Mr. David, Jacob, Cassie, Rex and Barkley. xoxoxoxo
Happy Shana Tovah! Is that the right thing to say? Anyways, we hope you get LOTS of treats today! Meow from Malaysia. Au, Target and Guido.
Hey Au, Hey Target, Hey Guido, Jet here. Hi Miss Ellen.
How sweet! Shana tovah is the actual greeting for Happy New Year, so, you gave us an extra Happy, which we will appreciate and enjoy!!!
We send a sweet New Year thank you from Miami to Malaysia! whoo hoo! 🙂
Awww she made all that mess by herself? That’s just adorable… and freaking hilarious. And she even tried to lick it but then… lol-fest.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Haopee.
You should see when Mom tells the story in person and pretends her mouth is stuck together describing how Koko needed water… the kids at the hospital used to go crazy laughing!
Doggy wheat paste!
Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Bernadette.
BOL… good one!
Too cute! Just read your interview on Savannah’s site as well – congratulations on such a good interview. It was so interesting to find out all about your history and the progress you have made. You are one gorgeous dog Jetty!
Hey Litchi, Hey Boks, Jet here. Hi Miss Susan.
Gosh, I’m blushing, thank you for saying so. 🙂
Savvy is quite the journalist, isn’t she? She really gets to the important matters. 🙂
Mom enjoys learning about other stories too, makes knowing our anipals and their families that much richer. 🙂
