In our efforts to address JJ’s post surgery cougar behavior, we decided to conduct our version of the Dating Game. (Catch up here.)
Today we introduce Bachelor #2:
Simba P. – The Guy Next Door (Well technically 3 houses down!)
Uh oh… thought we had more pics of Simba… will call his humans tomorrow, we’re writing this super late.
Knows the way to our house by heart, via the back patio AND garage door, when he escapes from his house. He has also visited most of our neighbors, as well.- He feels comfortable hanging for an afternoon or an evening before his humans realize he’s missing and/or return home and/or answer their phones.
- Has pawesome house manners.
- Sweet as pie disposition… happy, happy, happy all the time – great with K9s, felines and humans.
Gets along great with me and JJ. (Passed the Brother Test!)- Passed the Spa Day Test. (Yes, Mom washed all 3 of us together in the shower a few months back when Simba showed up fresh from the
swampcanal!) - Could use to get some more long walks in… his humans exercise big time, however, do not often take Simba with them.
- Could use Mom’s carrot diet. (again, not the guy’s fault, his humans feed him 2x more kibble than I receive and I weigh more!)
- Needs a LOT of leash training (again, not the guy’s fault…)
- About JJ’s age.
Champ update:
I made 3 calls this week:
- Big Dog Ranch – Full, had one person on the premises to ask for ideas.
- Left messages for 2 bulldog rescues, no response yet.

Mom asked me to share it was either that or have a swamp dog smelling Simba! He happened to catch us the day before our spa day, so, Mom moved our appointment up!
She actually enjoys spa days, with the exception of when JJ fled the shower full of shampoo suds!
BTW, we bestowed an award on you yesterday, congratulations!!!

Hey Bunk? I think it’s a girl thing… I can only tell you from Mom’s point of view, because as a fellow manly man… I’m not sure what they’re talking about either! Since her pyometra/endometriosis surgery where she was “fixed” at the end of May, she’s become very flirty… At age 6… ya know… kind of cougarish! 🙂
It seems that I missed the dating game. LOL. Hey Jetty. Are you playing match-maker this time? What other roles did I miss? LOL. Simba looks like a fun guy. Too bad he doesn’t get enough exercise. I bet he would’ve loved it.
What is JJ’s problem, Jetty? Did the earwax harden? I’m a bit confused. Although, I’m glad JJ is hookworm free.

Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Haopee,
Mom fears you may be too young, the show was on in the late ’60s/early ’70s she recalls.
Miss Haopee, here’s the quick rundown on JJ’s ear: When she had her surgery at the end of May for the pyometra/endometriosis issue, she ended up with an ear infection. Dr. Shaffer helped clear that up. Then, he told Mom that there was a huge hunk of was up on her ear drum that needed to come out. If if did not, one of 2 bad things could happen: continued ear infections or a hard cap would form on top of wax and would be BAD.
JJ had 3 seperate syringes with ear medicine put in over 5 weeks to soften wax, no luck… drops along the way, no luck, 2 deep ear irrigations … got half out… finally he had to go in there mechanically with JJ under sedation. She’s now getting daily drops in that ear and other drops in the other ear. We have a recheck in 2 weeks.

All’s we has to say is (horrified look) BATHS!?!?!?
(We’re too young to unnerstand the whole dating thing but Mommy MOL’ed at the cougar comment!!

Hi sweet Jetty – well I vote for Simba! what a doll – makes me sad though his humans aren;t giving him all the good excercise he needs and too much food! He sounds like such a happy easy going guy I think it;s a perfect match for sweet happy all the time JJ!

Don’t vote yet, we thought there would be only 1 bachelor to go, however, we may have a last minute super duper entry. We feel the same way about Simba. All the Moms (Miss Mary Ann, Miss Beverly, Miss Denise (before she and Sam moved), Miss Stephanie (Freddie and Cody’s Mom) have all tried to politely speak with them) Not so much success so far.
Wowee! Petsmart? Mom went to Petco and Petsmart yesterday looking for best price on waste scoop bags. (Petsmart)… She and Miss Mary Ann saw their first Afghan hound in Miami and two humongous boxers in the grooming area. Have a pawesome day.

Atheletic and a very fast runner.. I am kind,considerate and a great swimmer. I am a great hunter and kill palmetto bugs when they dare to show their face.I am employed (I patrol our lake and keep the ducks off our grass). WOW BRO, If this works out we could be bro-in-laws.

Jack! Outstanding idea! Gosh, why didn’t I think of that before. Ok, here’s the scoop… have your Mom email my mom some of your GQ pics and she’ll enter you into the process. The only thing I forsee as a negative… how to we deal with the long distance aspect. The remaining bachelor lives on our evening walking route… hmmmm… I know you and Mom are super smart… so, ponder that aspect… Let us know if you need our email again! 🙂

Your so funny! Actually, JJ, Mom and I just finished spa day. We’re now in the drip dry phase.
We thought of Blueberry this morning because Mom prepared her oatmeal with fresh blueberries this morning. While it was cooking, she let JJ and I practice catching blueberries in a sit position from about 12 inches. (I know, slightly embarrassing to admit we don’t retrieve and catch very well.) 🙂
Simba is fortunate to have neighbors like you, because he doesn’t sound very fortunate otherwise.

Well, Rumpy, if truth be told, all the K9 families on our 2 blocks worry about him. All the Moms over time have had to return him from an escape. The family seems to have fixed that issue. We have all gently mentioned the exercise/food issue… now we just hope for the best because he’s such a happy boy.

Guess what? Mom visited the Petsmart by the Falls yesterday which allows Friends Forever to show dogs. Mom believes there were about 3 x more dogs than usual… ugh… 😦
Het Jetty,,,,, I’m sure both the guys would be great,,,but I’m leaning towards Simba for various reasons. I have a song/video that I offer as a donation to rescues named “Adopt Me”. I can actually have Champ sing the song in the video and also tell the people who watch the video a little bit about himself in the video. I’ve actually had some success getting harder to adopt pets,,,,adopted,,,with a video like this. You could post the video to your local area sites to help get Champ adopted. If you’re interested….let me know and then I’ll send you a link to one of the adoption videos I’ve produced, so you can get an idea what they are like.
