Wowee Wow Wow

Hey It’s Jet Here.

What a week we’ve had.  It started a little rocky with Monday’s Mischievous remote control, however, by midweek, Ish’s eggs were in the fridge, we found that cool swimming elephant picture and received The Sunshine Award from Savannah and the Liebster Award from my adopted, Little Sister, Poppy.  We absolutely LOVE sharing and passing the awards forward.

Mom’s week went well, too.  After six, yes SIX visits to the Division of Motor Vehicles, she finally received her new driver’s license yesterday.  (the issues were all paper and eyesight related, not driving test related, in case you were worried!)  She caught up on this stuff called bank reconciliations which made her face turn purplish on Monday.  She had three unexpected good things happen in Kitchen Counselor world. And… despite last night’s Heat/Celtic game results (congratulations Celtics, well played), so far, our Heaters are up 2-1 in the series.

JJ, Mom, and I had a few good things happen together.  We made three constitutional walks, two at night and one in the morning before or in between bands of horrendous downpours.  You know how um… uh… ok PETRIFIED I am about storms, so, we consider any time we can get out during this type of weather pattern a victory.

During our Tuesday evening constitutional, we noticed a beige, waterlogged little cutie running across a yard into the street.  Mom cajoled (vocabulary builder) it (him after further investigation) to join us.  Mom checked his tag and learned his name was Gizmo.  He looked like a pug wrapped in apricot poodle fur!  The tag only had a phone number and we left our phone home. He kind of looked like this except he had much curlier, poodle fur and he was missing an eye.

Mom rang the first bell and a nice lady (mortified of K9s) agreed to dial the number and then pass the phone to Mom.  We left a vm.  Mom, JJ, Gizmo and I rang 2 more bells until we learned from Miss Kitty at the 3rd house she thought Gizmo belonged diagonally across the street.  We trekked over there and rang the bell.  A lady answered and confirmed Gizmo was hers.  She had looked and looked and needed a shower before looking more.

Mom told us how proud she was that we helped return a K9 to his loving family, creating a happy ending.

Another great week!

  1. Yay – so happy you helped Gizmo find his way back home, he must have been just as scared as his Mum…..

Mum and I have found quite a few Dogs and it’s always great to help them find their homes, luckily they’ve all had collars on – Mum spent ages chasing after a little Dog a couple of weeks ago in the car, it was running SO fast!! Eventually she and another lady got it to stop and it hid behind a trash can, they were able to get it to relax and lots of neighbors came out, one person had a Dog Play Pen so the Dog couldn’t run off again – it was injured, but they were able to call the animal control people and get it back home – yay – I love a happy ending 🙂

    Have a fun weekend guys,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

  2. Hey Jet, how exciting that you got to help a little dog find his home. I feel for you about those storms though. We don’t have any here yet – June is usually hot and dry, but they will probably start showing up here next month.

    • Hey Bongo, Jet here.

Dude, Mom made me proud, it was as if she had attended my Scooby Doo Academy investigative skill building class!

I cannot imagine you feeling like me during storms… I’m sorry you do, though and… it makes me feel like I’m not alone.

    • Hey Fred, Hey Gloria, Jet here. Hi Miss Janet.

We were ready to take that wet, fluffball home until we could figure it out… yippee we figured it out fast! Yes, tags are vital. 🙂

  3. Hey Bro, Jack here. Glad your Mom was so persistent and Gizmo got home. I was thinking about you and how you were doing with the constant storms we are having.
I have some news to share with you. One of Mom’s clients is buying a Gold Mine and they are going to name it after me (kinda) the Golden Retriever Mine. I am going to be the logo, in a miner’s hat and goggles. It that the ultimate in manly or what?

    • Hey Jack, Jet here. Hi Miss Rebecca.

Dude, the storms are wigging us out. JJ barks at each boom and streaky light and I’m trying to stay off the walls and computer tower. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

DUDE! That’s OUTSTANDING news!!! Golden Retriever Mine, logo… dude you’re a celebrity… Get ready for posters, calendars, (Mom’s been teaching me about brand extensions)… oh the groupies… the swag… Hey… if you need a sidekick, wingman, body guard, name it…I’m your guy!

In the meanwhile, if it’s ever legally appropriate (Mom made me write that), can we post a pic of you as the logo when it’s finished?????

I’d say that’s a wowee wow wow alright!

    • Hey it’s Jet here.

Oh I just LOVE being called Jetty by my friends. 🙂

Gosh, it was a true group effort with Mom, JJ, and Miss Kitty… we would have taken the little guy home if necessary until we tracked down his humans. We live in a suburban area, however, Gizmo was about one block from a main road which scared us.

You are so thoughtful and correct to say better late than never. Please do not call your Mom a dufus, life happens and we never thought anything different. Your blog is so lovely, we would have never known you guys were new to the blogosphere! You deserve nothing but accolades (vocab builder!) Your post was most kind and we appreciate your words, effort and support. 🙂

We agree, the pet blogger world has been nothing short of an amazing surprise for us as well. We are still fairly newish (Oct. 31, 2011) and thought maybe a friend or two would read our posts. WRONG! The pet bloggers have shown such support and kindness, helping us through the loss of our golden girl, Koko, helping us name JJ when we adopted her and interacting with our daily adventures!

Can’t wait to see what happens next… well… after Mom feeds us breakfast… it’s almost 6 a.m. after all!

    • Hey Urban Hounds, Jet here. Hi Miss Kate.

Oh gosh, you’re making me blush… really, it was a team effort with Mom (she’s a persistent and resourceful human), JJ, and Miss Kitty. 🙂

  4. Hiya Jet…how ya doin’ big guy??!! And that is so cool to be able to help another dog get back to his peeps…and lucky for Mr Gizmo for sure…glad ya like the Sunshine Award ‘cuz you are a sunny guy…seriously!

    • Hey Savvy, Jetty here.
After the way my life started, it’s been all Sunshine and Rainbows at Mom’s house! Bet you can identify with that Savvy! Thanks again for sharing the award with us, you sweetie-paws.

We knew one way or another we would get Gizmo home, thank heavens it was sooner than later!

Big guy sending paw pats to my furry feline friend! 🙂

  5. Hey Jets, Soon as I get one I will send it to your Mom. It will be a while since the logo is just in the development stage. My brother Elliott (who is at the Rainbow Bridge with Grandpa), was on Billboards in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and also in the paper advertising a company name Quest, one of the first company’s to have non dial up internet.

    • Hey Jack, Jet here.

Right on! We are patient… when the time comes, we’ll be ready. 🙂

Really? How cool is that about Elliott? (maybe Elliott and Koko can frolic together over the Rainbow Bridge with Grandpa throwing the ball/tug toy!)… Was Elliott a golden as well?

      • Hey Bro. I am sure that Elliott and Koko have met. He was quite a ladies man so they are probably running together. He was a Golden too. I will have Mom put a picture of the Billboard on your Mom’s FB page so you can see him.
Mom says hugs to everyone and have a great (and hopefully storm free) day.

      • Hey Jack, Jet here. Hi Miss Rebecca.

Awww… she was a beauty inside and out, so, I’m sure they have, too. I’ll tell Mom to look at the billboard.

Back at ya Dude, to the family, too!

    • Hey Texas, Jet here.

Dude, you are just the purrfect new pal! Mom and I are trying not to do the happy dance and whoo hoo too loudly as it is 5:25 a.m. and my teenage human sister would do this thing called “have a hissy fit!” since Mom’s office is about 4 feet from said teenager’s room! We are honored and blown away by your thoughtfulness. Your name OBVIOUSLY refers to your Texas-sized heart. Thanks for including us. 🙂

      • Hey Texas, Jetty here.

Mom and my sister just got home, so, we did some happy dancin’… we will give you the proper thank you post on Thursday, since we’re running WAY behind today… ahem… (mom’s fault!) Thanks again new friend with Texas sized heart! As Savannah, our other newish feline friend says… paw pats! 🙂
