Mischief Monday – This Was Not Supposed To Happen

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Fair warning… delicate topic today.  When you adopt a K9, at least in our area, they must be “fixed.”  Mom says she prefers not to share the definition as I may “lose my cookies!” in light of the area affected.  Anyway, Mom confirmed JJ’s status with Golden Rescue South Florida when we adopted JJ in December.  Miss Carol said Animal Services told her JJ was this thing called spayed.

W-R-O-N-G!  In February, Mom got a big surprise and I acted quite differently towards Miss JJ.  Mom asked around and learned that K9s typically “go into heat” twice a year.  Mom spoke with Judy at Dr. Shaffer’s office on Friday about just this topic.  She figured JJ would get “fixed” in June/July.

Well, that cycle stuff showed up TODAY, a mere THREE months after the first time!  Mom and my human sister had to get out the “accessory.”  Can’t that cycle thingie do proper math calculations???

To help JJ feel less self conscience, Mom and Miss Mary Ann (really Miss Mary Ann who has much more talent in this area) toyed around with a name or two:

  • Aunt Flo’s Granny Panties
  • . Panties
  • The Denim Diaper (Rachel’s contribution)

Another great, but confusing girl stuff, day.

    • Hey Rumpy, Jet here.

I know… Mom had to save up some biscuit money because we had that unexpected air conditioner mischief a month ago. 😦

She’s NEVER off leash, Rumpy, so no worries about you know what!

    • Hey Benny, Hey Lily, Jet here.

From JJ: You are most kind, I appreciate your supportive words during this cyclical time! You know, living with my human sister, Rachel, we have a style standard to maintain!

  1. Hey Buddy,

I think us Boy Doggies have it easy, no Granny panties for us!! 🙂

    Wags to all

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

  2. We were working the guide dog booth at the pet expo and the booth next to ours had the panties, but they called theirs body wraps.

  3. OH BOY! And we were just talking about diapers the another day Big bro Jet!! O.O i hope JJ is feeling comfortable. Sending JJ lots of love and huggies. ♥ Poppy hopes that it doesn’t hurt? ♥

    • Hey Poppy, Jet here.

I know, can you believe it? JJ seems just fine, a little less jumpy. I’ll share your Little Sister love and huggies with JJ. Sending Jetty kisses and JJ hugs right back to you, Poppy!

  4. Good morning Jetty – please pass some extra lovies and hugs to sweet JJ – I sympathize – not easy being a girl!!

  5. We haven’t had that issue in a long time..for some reason we’ve most often ended up with boy foster dogs, and those guys have always been pre-snipped! When we do get a girlie, who’s still not had the um, you know….operation….the boys sure do get excited. Even though they’re snipped too! Good luck with the whole thing–I think your diapers look fetching.

  6. Hi Y’all,

Stoppin’ to say “hello” and see how y’all are doing.

Oh, Jet! You may just want to go stay at a kennel for awhile. It’s much easier on a fellow.

Hope you have a fantastic week!

    Y’all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

    • Hey Hawk, Jet here.

Oh Hawk, dude… I know it will get better, but, gosh, it’s darn itchy down there. I would miss home to much to be in a kennel…

      Have a good week yourself!

  7. Sorry but…..BOL! Granny panties! Thank goodness we don’t have to deal with that. But I bet that JJ was not happy. Hopefully she can get in soon to get fixed, so she can rip up those granny panties instead of wearing them. 🙂

    • Hey Weinerful Gang, Jet here.

I know, sad, sad, sad, right! Mom said back in the day, ladies burned their br_s! Maybe JJ can burn (safely of course) her granny panty!

  8. Three months is very soon to be in season again. If you are not familiar with pyometra, google it and review the symptoms. If any of them show up go immediately to the vet (ER if necessary). Do not mess around because delay can be deadly. Hope it is just an early season. Good luck. 🙂

      • I hope I didn’t freak you out, I just wanted you to be aware of what to look for because it can start out looking like a season and change fast. But then it is probably just that she came into season early. 🙂

      • From Mom: Well I admit I’m worried, however, I’m deeply appreciative, I would never have known to ask… Koko, my first adopted golden girl was spayed when I adopted her, so I’m new to the cycle biz.

  9. Goodnight sweet Jetty, JJ, Mom, Rachel and Pluffy – I hope “J” is doing ok with her girl issues!!

    love you all xoxoxo

    • Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Wendy.

J is already reluctant to put the Body Wrap (suggestion from our blog pal!)on after our constitutionals… what can you do!

Sending goodnight Jetty kisses and JJ hugs to you, Mr. David, Jacob, Cassie, Rex and Barkley xoxoxoxox

  10. Oh Jetty, the very same thing happened with Miss Delilah!! They told us she was spayed and she wasn’t. We just called it her diaper and trust me when I say she didn’t like it. 😦

      • Yes, she certainly does! In fact one day Delilah pulled her ‘diaper’ off and jumped the gate and ran upstairs to bed. I don’t have to tell you how that went. 😦

      • Hey Sampson, Hey Delilah, Jet here. Hi Miss Jodi.

Whoops… not so good, huh? JJ’s wiggled out of hers a few times as well. 😦

    • Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Noel.

First, may I say thank you for visiting. 🙂

Wow, you sound super cool and fun. Mom will participate within the next few days, whoo hoo! Thanks for sharing the inner workings of blog buttons, Mom… well let’s fondly say… is a tad tech challenged!
