Hey It’s Jet Here.
Last night, our evening constitutional was late and abbreviated. Mom returned from her UMiami vegan gluten free baking class about an hour before our customary “before bed empty the tank” walk. She wanted to exit right; however, I thought an exit left suited us better.
We followed the exit left small square route, which passes by my two favorite banyan trees I’ve mentioned before. I usually investigate the first one, which last night became the second one with the exit left approach.
In the floodlight from the gated house, my tree felt more intriguing than usual. (Mom took pictures this morning so you could see better.) Even though Mom preferred not to dawdle, she noted my curiosity and asked me if I wanted to “jump it?”
My favorite nook did not call to me at first; something pulled me on the opposite side. Two spots required intense inquiry on the sidewalk side. I put my nose so far into a cranny that Mom said, “Jetty, be careful, something may surprise you and grab your nose!” Silly Mom, grab my nose!
Just for emphasis, I used my right front paw as a mini excavator; just like you humans use your right hand to clear out debris from a cranny. Continuing on to my favorite spot, I briefly jumped up, not discovering anything new. Two more passes to the four spots of the evening occurred before Mom and JJ insisted we must move along. They both encourage my love of detecting and investigation.
I shall write about my findings in my Scooby Doo Academy Nature journal.
Another great nook and cranny day.
P.S. Happy Birthday to my special Nana.
There’s nothing better than investigating some good old nook and crannies!! Happy Birthday to your Nana!
Hey Freddie, Hey Gloria, Jet here. Hi Miss Janet.
Oh you know it, I could do it all day every day given the chance!
Thank you for your birthday wishes for my Nana. 🙂
Those banyan tres are so cool
Benny & Lily
Hey Benny, Hey Lily, Jet here.
They really are guys. We used to have them lining our main streets until 1992 according to Mom. That’s when Hurricane Andrew uprooted the majority of banyans that provided beautiful shade in our area. These trees have shallow roots, which seems odd…
So was it late when you went out? Because your pictures are marvelous for an evening, I bet it’s a great area to explore. 🙂
Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Jodi. Yup, we went out late, late. Mom kindly went out after she walked us this a.m. and the sun rose to take pictures where you humans could see something!
Oh yes, I’m waiting for Miss Mary Ann and Dixie to join us in about an hour for another visit!
Hi sweet Jetty – so cool to explore those amazing trees. Sending Happy Birthday wishes to your Nana!
Goodnight my favorite handsomeguy- sending lotsa hugs and kisses to you, JJ, Mom, Rachel, Puffy, Fluffy
Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Wendy.
I agree Miss Wendy, although I thought the street side would call to me tonight, however, when I got up close… no biggie!
Nana says thanks, we spoke with her tonight… well I barked!
Oh, Miss Wendy, I love being your handsome guy! Jetty kisses and JJ hugs to you, Mr. David, Jacob, Cassie, Rex and Barkley
Those Banyan trees look really neat! What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found in there?
Happy Birthday to your Nana!
Bunny
Hey Bunny, Jet here.
Hmmm… Bunny, great question… mostly geckos, birds (above, I hear them rustling), spiders, that type of creature…
Hey Jet,
You’re lucky that your Mum is so patient with your investigations late at night – when I go out for the last time – I hear ‘Quickly Snoopy’ – it’s a command I pretend I don’t understand….. Tee Hee
Can’t wait to hear what you found….
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Hey Snoop, Jet here.
I know, she is pretty patient. Last year, she had a job where she returned once a week between 1-2 a.m. and then had to first take us out for our evening constitutional!
Koko, I mean I would wake her up the next morning at my usual 5:00 a.m.! She’s a good sport, plus, I give her lots of kisses. 🙂I didn’t really find anything spectacular. I think I just heard a gecko running in and out of the nooks and crannies!
