Cyber Pals

Hey, It’s Jet Here.

Miss Wendy began writing to me early in my blogging career.  Every day, she sends me hugs and kisses from her whole family, tells me funny stories, asks about our family members’ health and compliments Mom and me.  We look forward to seeing Miss Wendy’s daily comment in the queue.  We finally met Miss Wendy at the GRSF reunion in January.  Unfortunately, her fur family did not feel comfortable attending.

Mom told me that before home computers, humans did this thing called write letters to pen pals.  Pen pals came in a few varieties:

  •  You met each other briefly (like on vacation) but lived far away.
  • You never met in person however through your letters you built a relationship.
  • Due to circumstances you and your pen pal lived apart for a time. (military service, college)

Through Miss Wendy’s comments, we feel like we know Cassie, Rex and Barkley.  Cassie, a rescue from Golden Rescue South Florida, like JJ and I, feels like my twin sometimes.  We have several behaviors in common.  Rex sounds like he has a big personality in a small package.  Barkley seems like a cool dude I would enjoy hanging out with.

The other day, Mom emailed Miss Wendy to request pictures of her K9s to match faces to names.  Mom and I oohhed and ahhed upon seeing beautiful blond Cassie… (I can feel a cyber crush building.)

Adorable Rex – he and JJ would play really well together…

And handsome, chilled out Barkley – bet we could watch sports together…

Lucky for us, as cyber pals we can share images which enhance our connections.

Another great cyber pal day.

  1. Oh that is very true about the pen pal says mama. She said that sometimes it would be fun and more exciting to run to the mailbox and wait for a new letter to come. But now everything is so instantaneous. But we are glad that it has changed. Internet is a perfect to make lots of new friends for us, da dawgs. Only because it’s really hard for us to hold a pen. 🙂 Have a weinerful day, Jet. And Cassie is a cutie! 😉

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. So true, Mom and I joined the blog hop community about 2-3 weeks ago and we already have cyberpals that share great stories, amazing pictures and fun banter.

You’re so right about the pen situation… thank goodness Mom takes dictation with a smile!

  2. Hi Jet – OMG we are so excited that you put our furbabies in your blog – We feel lucky to know you and be cyber pals! Your blog always makes me smile and laugh and is the best part of my day! Thank you again for featuring my fur family!! hugs and kisses xoxoxoxox

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Wendy. Our privilege getting to know you and our cyber pals Miss Wendy! You are a most special part of our day as well! Jetty kisses and JJ hugs (we’re actually with our human sister, Rachel, right now because she is having a baking-palooza day!)

  3. Hi sweet Jetty – how did the baking-palooza go? what yummy treats did Rachel make? I love sweets – chocolate, frosting, cake, etc – love it all! wishing you all a restful night sleep!

sending so many big goodnight hugs and kisses to you, JJ, Mom, Rachel, Puffy and Fluffy xoxoxo

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Wendy. Oh Miss Wendy, it was a little slice of heaven, especially when Mom did the dishes! Just between us, she is never as thorough as I am when she loads the dishwasher. I make sure that any scrumptious tidbits go into my tummy and leave the dishes clean. Rachel made her 2 favorite recipes from the Hunger games cookbook: whole wheat crescent rolls and cheese buns. Then, she made a double batch of red velvet cake; one she made as a sheet cake and the other as cupcakes. She made special decorations for her friend’s birthday, something about Happy Birthday Ale (Alesandra) with lots of decorative swirly things. She used this thing she and Mom call a decorating pro, looks a little like a gun for frosting, with different tips. Her friend came over to pick up the cake for her party last night and ate a crescent roll right out of the oven! Mom washed LOTS of dishes and even had to go outside and use the hose on the drain basket to unclog this gooky stuff!

Mom is writing from Auntie Liz’s apartment this morning, taking dictation telepathically. When she posts in a few minutes, you’ll know why!

She went to sleep around 2 a.m. and promised to share details and pictures with me tonight.

Sending you lots of Jetty kisses and JJ hugs

  4. My person says she’s had some pen pals for years, but now they mostly keep in touch through email and Facebook. She’s gotten to meet a few of them, but I haven’t yet gotten to meet any of my blogging buddies. Maybe someday.

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. Hi Bongo. Wow, bet your person thought it was really cool to meet her pen pals. Mom’s the same keeping in touch with folks through email, facebook and even my blog! I met two cyber pal humans and one fellow K9 at the Golden Rescue South Florida Reunion last month. The humans gave me lots of lovies and Jack, well, he was an awesome, laid back, dude. Mom thought he handsome, too!
