Food Network Mischief?

Hey, it’s Jet Here.

Did you notice we did not post yesterday?  I thought about raising a ruckus with Mom until I heard her conversation with Auntie Liz.  On Saturday, Mom had this exciting opportunity to attend a taping of a Food Network show.  Since Mom is The Kitchen Counselor, you can imagine how appreciative she felt towards my Tia (Aunt) Maite’s sister-in-law, Veronica, who provided this invitation.  Well, Mom knows a bit about tv production and thought the filming might run a bit late.  The call time of 11:00 a.m. turned into a real filming time of 3:30 p.m., finishing at 6:30 p.m.

Mom then ran home to feed and quickly walk us and off to the hospital she went to visit my Grandpa.  She finally returned home at 10:30 ish, kindly (if belatedly) walked us, had dinner and began preparing for the Farmers Market the next day from11:30 p.m. to 12:15.  We went to sleep around 1:20 ish and woke up first at 4:36 and rested (well tried) together until around 6:00.

Mom intended to go to Publix at 7:00 (really went at 7:30), arrive at the Farmers Market promptly at 8:00, work until 1:00 ish, walk us, visit Grandpa, return home in time to feed us dinner, and take my dictation and post late, but POST.

Food Network mischievously changed all that!  Mom greeted Veronica in the parking lot and saw my Cousin Christopher too.  He was the paramedic on the set both days.  Mom was as proud of him as Tia Maite would have been if she was there.  Everyone at the Market pulsed with excitement with the anticipation of being on tv!

The shoot time of 9:00 a.m. became:

  • Probably 11:00, maybe 11:30,
  • We’re deciding where to film, should be about 1:30 p.m., no… make that 2:00,
  • Production assistants popped up, some standing guard like casual soldiers in the designated filming area and some scurrying talking into their walkie-talkie mikes like secret service people saying probably 3:00,
  • Assistant directors, culinary production teams, wardrobe and lights arrived around 3:30, really soon, sorry.
  • Filming began around 4:00 and went to 7:00 ish, with almost all the vendors gone!

Mom arrived home pooped, ate dinner, made her calls and fell asleep on the couch watching… Food Network of course!

Another great culinary day (for Mom!)

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Janet. After Mom did morning breakfast for the fur family, herself, cleaned the kitchen, did garbage and recycling, walked us, caught up a smidge on the computer (including posting my words on time this a.m. – thanks Mom) and pampering JJ and I with a much needed spa day … we all did this thing called pass out! We recently woke up and feel better.

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. Hi Snoopy. Yup, we offered to help her. However, since she prepares food, she thinks some guests will not understand the value of added protein from strands of our fur which inevitably seem to enter the food stream.

Have a great day yourself! Your buddy, Jet (Jetty to my friends!)

  2. Hi sweet Jet – WOW poor Mom what a day! She sure is amazing to be able to fit in a spa day after all that mischief Food network caused! So funny about fur strands adding extra protein – you crack me up – only a real dog person understands that! sometimes I find a strand of someones (not mentioning names!) fur in a meal and just remove it and move on!

Loved the picture of Mom she has such a pretty smile!

Guess what – last week when my bil was here he taught my Pom, Rex how to walk on a leash – he never liked it before but somehow he started going happily with my bil (it’s so good cuz Rex is a little how to say it kindly……plump! and could lose a few pounds!) Now I have an extra dog to walk but he is very cute his little legs so so fast!

    Sending hugs and kisses xoxoxox

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Wendy. We agree, only K9 fans get the whole added protein potential. Mom does the same thing you do… no big deal.

Thanks Miss Wendy, we think she’s pretty, too, and as she always tells us, inside and out!

Yay Rex… Mr. Caesar will be very proud of you. We love watching Poms walk, they are super cute. Miss Dixie, the mini doxie has the same type pace… we patiently wait for her to catch up when need arises.

Lots of Jetty kisses and JJ hugs.

  4. Hi Jet! That is so cool that your Mom got to go to a taping of a Food Network show! Sounds like she had quite a busy and exciting day! Those are the best kind of days!

  5. Wow! You all need to step back and take a little nap!! That is really exciting about the food network! Nice to meet you Jet! Xoxo Chloe and LadyBug

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. Hi Chloe and LadyBug. Nice to meet you too! We took a 4 hour snooze yesterday after Mom gave us Spa Day. We felt more rested after that. Mom did a lot of computer work after that. Have a great day!

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. Exactly! Mom says she treated it like two days of education, since she’s been on tv a few times as the Kitchen Counselor! 🙂 Yay Mom! I told her as her trusted Kitchen K9, I should be on tv, too!

  6. Wow, who can keep up w/ mom’s schedule? Glad she had fun on the “set”. Your right, Aunt Maite is very proud of your cousin, Christopher. Take good care of Mom!

    • Hey, it’s Jet here. Hi Tia Maite. So glad you saw our post! I know, Mom balances lots of stuff at one time. I took care of Mom today… I napped beside her this morning, I napped at her feet while she worked on the computer. I napped while she did the dishes after my human sister, Rachel, had a baking-palooza day. Tia, I try to take care of people like cousin Christopher.
