Thankful Thursday – Quadruple Bypass

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Ok, it’s not the quadruple bypass of the scary kind… no heart trouble in Casa Jet, thank goodness.  No, this quadruple bypass is of the bestowing “by passing” it on kind!

Over the last two or so weeks, we’ve received the “Seven Things About Me” award from four of our pals:  Savannah’s Paw Tracks (she received an award today – Concats Savvy!), Feline Purrspective, Hailey Chronicles and The Princess Tails.  Please go visit my friends and tell ‘em Jetty sent ya!

Mom’s pretty excited because her favorite color is BLUE and her favorite number is SEVEN!

Here are the rules:  Share 7 things about yourself.

As you know, I, Gentleman Jet, try to exhibit proper manners, so, I decided to share the nicknames (some of which you have read about) of the seven inhabitants (VBP – vocab builder project) of Casa Jetty.  Mom researched the origin of nicknames and found this…The idea of a nickname didn’t come from English origins, though. They were originally common in ancient Greece and Rome, especially when used as terms of affection, which the Greeks called hupokorisma, meaning “calling by an endearing name.”

I  think you can feel how much the humans love you because the nicknames usually get delivered with certain voice inflections, too.

  1. ME! – Jet, Jet Black, Jetty, Jetty Spaghetti, Jettylicious, Mr. Handsome, Mr. Sniffy, Gentleman Jet, Gentleman Jetty, Jaunty Jet (named by Lady Litchi), Jetster, Jetterific, Yogurt nose.
  2. JJ – Jasmine Joy, Joy Jasmine, JJ, Gorgeous Girl, Cutie girl, Little Miss (fill in the blank depending on the situation).
  3. Puffy – Puff, Huffy Puffy, Puffster, Mr. Puff, Puffy Boy, Puff ‘n Stuff.
  4. Rachel (my human sister) – Rach, Rachie, Twihard girl, Moldy, Rachie Rach.
  5. Fluffy – (OTRB – Aug. 2012) – Fluff, Mr. Chatty Boy, Fluffster, Fluffers.
  6. Koko – (OTRB – Sept. 2011) – Koko, Koko Puff, Koko Poko, Kokola, Sweetie Girl, Kokolicious, Koko Loco, Jelly Belly girl.
  7. Mugs – (OTRB Summer 2002) – Missing Cat (M.C.), Muggsalufagous pronounced Mugs-a-lof-a-gous, Mugsy, Mugsy boy.

Next: Name seven other blogs to talk about their seven favorite things.  We know that many of you have already received this lovely award, so, we’ll try to find some of our newer pals who have not.  If we duplicate, no worries, know that you were in our thoughts.

We recently joined the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop hosted by Pepi Smart Dog (formerly by Cokie the Cat!).

    • Hey Savvy, Jet here. Hi Miss Linda…

Oh my, oh my, oh my! So sorry, I can only apologize for Mom taking liberties with the title. :(

Thanks again for the award. :)

We try to show off different blogpals so we can all connect. :)

  3. Neve here. Dad (Papi) says Ciao a tutti gli amici cani!! I understand italian, but just in case all my friends here don't he says hi to all our canine friends! on said:

Mom thought you should know that not only do Mom (and Papi/Giovanni) call me Neve, but they’ve got a few nicknames for me too: Girly, Bubbe, Pacciocolina, Batufolina -these are from my italian Papi and Mom’s favorite (and slightly embarrassing) snortypuss. I’m guessing she thinks it’s pretty cute when I get excited when Mom and/or Papi come home!

  4. Hi Jet! Hi Miss Lori, Hi Everyone!
My huMom calls me all sorts of nicknames. When I’m unhappy (with Hitch!) she calls me Miss Misery. Then there’s Missypoo, Miss-Oh-Lee, Beauty (Hitch yelling from other room) DON’T FORGET MISSYPISSY!! )and she calls Hitch, Mr. Hichard, Hitcheroni, the cat who has big feet (sung to the rice-a-roni jingle) the Sheriff and Mr. Handsome. I call him….(what mom?…..I wasn’t gonna say that!!)…I call him…well, geez,….nevermind. Anyway…. HuMom calls our boy/man Jakiepoo. That kinda funny cause he’s taller than her now and he gets aggravated when she baby talks him. I like it when she talks like that. Good things happen when she uses that voice…. Sometimes BACON happens!

Thanks for sharing all the cool nicknames in your house. It’s fun to know things like that. It’s good to know that our humom’s not the only one making up silly names for her furbabies. So, I’m gonna go explain to Hitch why it’s NOT NICE to yell from another room. Take care everyone. (muttering…..I ‘m gonna take care of…..)

    • Hey Mistletoe, Hey Hitch, Jet here. Hi Miss Dorothy.

We’re grinning side-to-side reading all your fun nicknames! Mom asked me to share that you reminded her that she called Mugs – Mugsarooni too! Love the jingle, Mom will probably go to sleep singing it!

Yeah, Rachie Rach, prefers Rach or Rachel now that she’s taller than Mom! (isn’t everyone!)

Excellent point… nickname voice usually means good things here, too!

Yes, manners and etiquette (VBP – vocab builder project) make for a proper gentleman… (see if Hitch buys that like I do!)

  5. Hey! ConCats Jet on your award :) Loved the nicknames ….Yogurt Nose??? MOL And thanks for by-passing it onto us too! ;). We will have to make up seven things now!!! Hmmmm………?

    • Hey Austin, Jet here.

Thanks so much, dude. Ah yes, yogurt nose… thought we posted more concretely (VBP – vocab builder project) about that. You just gave Mom an idea!

Most welcome and most deserved. :)

  6. Thanks for thinking of us – we’ll post our answers today! :) Btw, if you’re meaning to enter the Kmart giveaway, please come back and make sure to enter thru the Rafflecopter on the post… it’s the only way it can count. :/

    • Hey LC, Jet here. Hi Miss Nichole.

Most welcome, we so enjoyed your answers. :)

  7. Scared me too. Glad all are all right. Loved that list of nick names.

    • Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Marg.

      Sorry, Miss Marg, it’s Mom’s fault….

Glad you enjoyed the nickname list… We’re about to have dinner, so, I’m happy already. The weather finally turned a bit, we’ve been enjoying longer walks and snuggles in bed with Mom at night.

Whoo, we left a comment, looks like it took! :)

  8. Hey Jets, Jack here. Good thing Mom read Friday’s post before this one. She would have been scared to read the title without knowing what it meant.

Ginger-The Princess, Gingersnap, Gingina, Petunia Begonia, Pumpkin, Punks (when she was little she had the fur on her head that stuck up like a punk rocker) Missy Doo,

Me-Jacks, Jackie, Jackie Chan (I have almond shaped eyes) Jack Sparrow, Jack the Ripper (I rip all my toys up), Golden Boy, BBB ( big butt boy but it is not true), JD (for my name Jack Daniels) Smiling Jack.

Mom send hugs and pets to you and all the fur babies,

    • Hey Jack, Hey Ginger, Jet here. Hi Miss Rebecca.

Smiling at Casa Jetty reading the nicknames… :)

Sending Jetty kisses and JJ hugs to Miss Rebecca and Mom sends lovies to Golden Boy and Gingersnap!
