A Boy Needs His Toys

Hey It’s Jet Here.

Sorry we missed you yesterday, Mom ran around from appointment to errand to appointment to errand, etc… you get the drift!

One of those appointments was taking JJ to Dr. Shaffer (who as we’ve mentioned before has his office at the end of the earth aka far away).  Great news!  JJ’s ears have FINALLY improved.  She’s down to maintenance medicine 2x/week in the ear which had the procedure and once a week in the other ear.  Phew!

While waiting to enter the exam room, Mom and JJ hung out with a Mom,Dad and two little boys waiting to pick up their 9 month old boxer, Miles, from boarding.  Miles bounded into the area so, happy, he almost knocked the little guys over.  Let’s just say he would benefit from Scooby Doo Academy training!  When the Dad called for the boys to leave, the youngest remained on the chair, hugging JJ.  The Dad asked if he was ready to leave and the little guy replied twice that he wanted to go home with Mom and JJ!  Awwww…

I digress.  Mom took JJ to PetSmart across the street and I can’t believe what she did!  She bought toys for Austin (very nice) and NONE FOR CASA JET!!!! JJ didn’t seem to mind, she was way more interested in the humans.  Mom felt Austin needed the basics: a tug toy, an indoor fetch toy and another frisbee, his favorite outdoor toy.

Last night, after their evening constitutional, she surprised him with the tug toy.  She told us he wagged so hard she thought his tail might fall off!  He fetched, he tugged with Mom and didn’t let the toy out of his sight.

When Mom returned for turn down service, Austin met her at the door proudly showing off his new toy. He easily surrendered the rope while he went outside for last potty and then sat with his tail sweeping the floor patiently waiting for Mom to throw the rope for another round of fetch.

Mom helped him learn that she would give bedtime belly rubs while he held the rope in his mouth.  Once he figured that out, he relaxed and almost fell asleep.  No doubt he dreamt of open fields with lots of tug toys to fetch!

Another great tug toy day.

  1. Great news about JJ’s ears! Leroy has ongoing ear issues too and I have been using a maintenance dose of ear medication a few times a week!

    • Hey Leroy, Hey Sherman, Jet here. Hi Miss Jen.

Thanks so much for your kind words. Leroy, bummer, dude! Mom and Dr. Shaffer have worked on her ear issues since Memorial Weekend… LOTS of biscuit $ later, at least they are on the mend. :)

  2. Good news about JJs ears! (And how cute was that little one who didn’t want to leave? ;)

Your mom is a good woman getting toys for Austin. Look at it this way, at least she didn’t give him yours. ;) lol

Mom wishes she could be there to play with him…and he likes belly rubs!! Cool! I just let Mom rub my tummy a bit…not much…but a bit…paw pats, Savannah

    • Hey Savvy, Your Big Guy Champion here. Hi Miss Linda.

Please forgive our lack of response this week, Savvy, so much on Mom’s plate she’s barely gotten to the computer to transcribe my thoughts.

Thanks for cheering on JJ’s ear progress, we’re delighted as well… it’s been quite the long road…

Mom asked me to share that she thanks you for your kind words, Austin deserves every moment and all the toys in the world. Tell Miss Linda, anytime!!! (we recommend the cooler months!)

Savvy, did you really? I’m super proud of you, that’s a HUGE milestone. Paw pats right back, good going…

Yeah, we kind of forgave her because our floors have lots of toys on them… (even though Little Miss Chewminator is doing her best to chew through them all…)

Mom told me you and she emailed this morning and she caught you up on her crazy busy, little access to the computer week!

She returned from Austin’s about an hour ago… she told his family that it was like Hannukah in August!!!

Mom said thank you for the compliment, she blushes too.

Sometimes, when Rachel was little, Mom would say Boomerang when she wanted Rachel to know that she sent love right back to her. So BOOMERANG Miss Wendy and family! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
