Oh gosh, you’re not going to believe this…
Remember when the mischief was No On/No Off? Well, Mom handled that obstacle fairly well; she turned the box on by standing in front of it and touching a magic spot. The spot would light up and say POWER. She did the same when she wanted the box to go to sleep. Many of you suggested that perhaps the box had celebrated so many birthdays, it no longer could function. We crossed our paws and fingers that you were mistaken.
Last week, Mom tried the magic spot and noises occurred, however, a second sign lit up; STAND BY. Mom has this thingie called U-Verse which allows us to watch Tanked, Mr. Caesar, The NBA Finals, etc. In the tropics, when we receive lots of storms, U-Verse can go kaplooey for a while and has to do this reboot thingie. Mom tried all her tricks and this blue screen with AT &T stayed put with an arrow going round and round and round until it made us dizzy. After a really long time, it said, quit client? We said yes. Mom tried a few days in a row, hoping that the box and Sir U-Verse would chat and make up. No such luck.
Do you know what it’s like to share a tv box with a teenager on summer break hooked on something called TLC? Thank heavens for that TIVO stuff or Mom and ol’ Jetty boy would be up a creek without a paddle I tell ya!
So… Mom is trying to wrap her head around (strange phrase you humans use…) the idea that we need a new box. She told me she has to save up biscuit money because right now, the jar is a wee bit low (ok… empty)… she said we’ll take this opportunity to catch up on our reading.
Another great, except for the tv box, day.

Yeah, we’re hoping that too… we have what Mom calls, “one last ditch effort”… call Sir AT & T and make sure everything else is ok… Mom already read every book on her shelves, however, we do have lots of magazines and reading material on the computer.
I will become more learned old school style!

Sorry to read about your Mom’s fingers… Mom used to make massage oil which kind of helped that… she used canola oil, wintergreen, peppermint and rosemary essential oils.
Yeah, we used to be ok, however, like everyone else, times got super challenging over the last few years. Mom does her best and believes like you that things will get better… (plus, she works as much as she can.) The 4 legged family members can’t tell any difference! Paw pats right back Savvy.

It’s 23 years old, so, it’s lived a long life… just yucky timing budget wise for Mom.
I’m glad we don’t have TV wars with teens anymore, they all grew up and moved away. Mom hardly ever watches TV, and I’m too busy napping. I sure hope you get it all figured out though.

Last night, because Mom told her on FRIDAY, Rachel was not surprised to get kicked off the tv when Our HEAT team began to play. She had her friend/boy over (wink, wink), so, she seemed not to notice much. BOL…
That tv box has really been causing you some troubles lately Jet! I guess you can give up some biscuits to help your Momma save for a new one you both can enjoy! In the meantime maybe she will read to you.

I do like when she reads to me though… she has what you call eclectic (vocab builder) taste in reading materials, so, I can usually apply my book reports for credit at Scooby Doo Academy!

How frustrating – that happened in our house a few months ago – for the second time this year – we got super lucky as it was just barely within a 5 year warranty – last time the company just fixed it, this time they said they would give us money for a new TV!!
So we just had no TV for a few weeks and now everyone seems happy again – I even got to watch some Dog Agility on the TV yesterday, I don’t often get to watch my programs! It was awesome!! I think I might like to try it?

Our tv is 23 years old, so… it’s probably time, however, Mom said budget wise, the timing is yucky. So glad you squeezed in under the warranty period.
Wow, dog agility? Cool! Dude, you would be terrific, I’m sure. Ask Mom to get the tivo thingie where you can record and watch 4 different things at the same time. That’s how I make sure I get my shows taped.
Hey Jetty, Did Mom unplug the box. Wait a minute and plug it back in. Sometimes when you do that it resets itself. I think if you lease the box they replace it for free. Could be wrong but leased equipment belongs to them and they should replace it if it doesn’t work. Love and belly rubs. Rebecca

Won’t ATT just give you a new box? We have comcast, and we pay a monthly fee to rent the box (which stinks) but when the box fails we just go to comcast and get a new one.

Oh gosh, wasn’t clear I guess… the little box is fine, it’s the big TV box that is not working.
No, she’s super sweet about that, we are her Kitchen K9s after all. In fact, by 6 a.m. we already had tidbits of sweet red pepper, daikon radish, cucumber, jicama, carrots and celery!

Thats a bummer about your Mom;s TV – I hate spending biscuit money on stuff like that, but prices have come down alot and maybe she can get a deal where she can get the TV but no biscuit $ until later!

What a clever suggestion; Miss Mary Ann offered to loan Mom a tv until enough coins clink together in the biscuit $ jar. She may take her up on it!
