My Triple Crown Day

Hey It’s Jet Here.

While no horse won the Triple Crown yesterday, (the contender horse got hurt and had to withdraw,) my day had triple terrificness!

First crown:  My young neighbor friend, Ruby, popped over to give lovies to JJ and me before dinner time. Mom then invited her to join us for our evening constitutional. Ruby just completed first grade and felt like she could hold on to JJ for the whole walk, which she did. She shared lots of fun stories, asked Mom lots of questions and even scooped my poop!

Which brings me to the second crown of the day… Ruby asked Mom if she could come in really fast (her parents needed her home) and give us our after constitutional treats. Mom said yes and mentioned that our special meaty bones were on the menu. Ruby thought having bones in the freezer was a weird idea, however, when she saw how excited we became, she reconsidered.

Third Crown: After JJ and I worked our gnawing magic on the bones, Mom invited us next to her on the couch for the HEAT game. She did her usual 30 minute tape delay for the first half and watched most of the second half, live.

During the second part of the fourth quarter, she clapped, cheered, wished, and screamed so much that I thought for a second, something might be wrong. When I barked to protect the family, she reached over and hugged me and told me to keep barking to cheer on the team! Huh? Ok! As the minutes and seconds ticked off, Mom kept telling the TV, “You can do it!” and told JJ and me to keep sending the HEAT our special good luck. By the end of the game Mom gave JJ and me a family hug and thanked us for doing our part to help the team become the Eastern Conference Champions.

We stayed up extra late to watch all the post game hoopla and interviews during which Mom hugged us more. She complimented the Celtics and told us what great champions and sportsmen they are, particularly Coach Doc Rivers and Mr. Ray Allen.

Mom said JJ and I can now cheer on our team for the final series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. We’ve already got our HEAT colors on … we’re ready for Game 1 on Tuesday night!

Another triple great day!

  1. Sounds like you had an AMAZING day!!! Well ….EXCEPT for the Heat lol. I am a former Clevelander soooooooo….as fantastic as LeBron James is….he leaves a bad taste in my mouth :)

    • Hey Margs Animals, Jet here. Hi Miss Marg.

Yup, we were excited to see the Devils won on Sportcenter @ 6 a.m.!

Oh gosh it is yummy to the max! I try to stare JJ down to see if she will “share!”

  2. Hey Jetty…sounds like you had a great day!

We live in Edmond, OK–a suburb of Oklahoma City–and while we are excited for you that your team won, we are looking forward to our Thunder playing also!!! That is so cool that your team and our team will be playing each other :) Tee hee!

    Have a great week!

    • Hey it’s Jet here.

      I did have a great day…

Mom loves your team too. She rooted for them all the way up to the finals. Do you wear team colors on game day? It’s kind of easy for me BOL… maybe we should swap pictures… :) We learned that KD land LeBron worked out together last fall for what LeBron called “Hell Week!” They called it that because they worked so hard! I’m glad we can write to you about the series.

Have a great week… we’ll try to check in with you on Tuesday!

      • We really like KD! We think he is awesome :) We hadn’t thought about it but maybe we should have our mom buy the four of us matching Thunder shirts!!! That would be so cool!

        Can’t wait til Tuesday….Thunder Up!!!

      • Not only do we like KD, but we like what we know about Harden. Derek Fisher is a true veteran and I’m glad he is enjoying the finals while the Lakers have “gone fishin’” (If you watch Charles Barkley and the gang on TNT you’ll get the reference!) Also, Perkins has good championship DNA from Boston…

I’d wear a shirt, however, JJ does not enjoy clothing, she, like my golden sister, Koko, may she be frolicking over the Rainbow Bridge, prefer to go au natural!

Oh is that what they say, Thunder up? We say White Hot Heat!

    • Hey Gang of Four Shaggy Dogs, Jet here.

Mom tolerates baseball although it is quite popular here. We do like hockey, however, about 10 years ago, they moved the team about an hour up the road and we cannot go anymore.

Well, you Celtics played a noble series, they are a classy team. We appreciate the fact we got past them, it wasn’t easy. :)

    • Hey Sampson, Hey Delilah, Jetty here. Hi Miss Jodi.

Oh she did indeed! But when she started hugging me and telling me what a good helper I was, I began to understand ruckus was a good thing!

  3. Hi sweet Jetty – WOW that was a fabulous day! Ruby is so special, what a cutie pie – and must have been so excited to walk JJ – and a big meaty bone (looked yummy! I bet it was loads of fun to chew on!) and to top it off the HEAT won! Good for you Jetty – you and your wonderful family deserve a triple crown day everyday!

Yesterday I sampled pasta with various sauces at a newly remodeled Winn Dixie ( I had trouble
not eating all the fettucine alfredo – smelled soo good) – very busy I served over 200 peeps! I have sampling jobs this Thursday and all day Fri, Sat and Sun!( those days are at Coscto and their shifts are from 10-5) so a busy week for me!

Jacob starts a three week computer science class tomorrow at FAU in Boca so I;m off to help him pack up his backpack! Does Rachel have any cool summer plans?

sending oodles of goodnight hugs and kisses to you, JJ, Mom, Rachel and PLuffy xoxoxoxox

    • Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Wendy.

Thanks Miss Wendy, yup, Mom was a pretty grateful, excited camper last night. :) Oh those meaty bones… I could swoon… Ruby is adorable, she trained me how to act with little ones.

Pasta? Sauce? No doggie bag for ‘ol Jetty boy? Miss Wendy, I thought we had an understanding???

Wow, your week sounds about as nutty as Mom’s weeks get.

How cool, computer science… I should probably enroll in one of those at Scooby Doo Academy so I can help Mom… she had issues!

Not this year, last year Rachel spent a month in India!

Sending Basta Pasta Jetty kisses and JJ hugs to you, Mr. David, Jacob, Cassie, Rex, and Barkley xoxoxoxxxo
