Sleepy Sundays

Hey It’s Jet Here.

I’m giving Mom the BIGGEST leeway today for posting super late.  If you’ve read the past few days posts, you’ll know about Mom’s busy week.  Mom’s work got cancelled today due to weather so, we all took an unexpected, yet welcomed three hour nap this morning.  Mom needed the extra snooze, let me tell you.

Yesterday, she walked us @ 6:30, got ready, packed the fresh and frozen food items in her car (with assistance from JJ – Little Miss Helper,) checked her recipes and packing list two more times to make sure… and off she went.  (Rachel, Mechel, and Mom’s Kitchen K9s helped pack her non-perishables and equipment the night before.)

She returned with less, albeit (vocabulary builder) good smelling grocery bags.  When I tried to investigate, Mom reminded me that my tummy did the infamous roller coaster ride for the last 24 hours (you get the picture, right?  Both ends, so to speak…) and I had to stick to this stuff called, gentle foods.

She unpacked the containers holding tidbits of Turkey Patties with Apple and Arugula as did the grill, the remains of the Bok Choy with Shitake Mushrooms in the wok, the containers with smidgens of Japonica Rice Salad, and the WORST… the Vitamix still coated with the Creamy Avocado Smoothie.  Hey, now that I think of it… where did the Roasted Salmon with Moroccan Spices go? Jetty, the group participants ate most of it and took the rest home in “doggie bags!”

Doggie bags? What’s that Mom? A doggie bag is a human term for a container holding leftovers.  You mean you gave out doggie bags and did not bring doggie bags home for your doggies?  Uh Mom? Do we need to have another discussion about “THAT’S NOT FAIR?” Sorry, Jetty, you know I always think of you and JJ, however, the groceries belonged to the Southeast Florida Cancer Control Collective  so, the leftovers in fairness, belonged to SFCCC.  Oh, I get it now, sorry for doubting you, Mom.  No worries, Jetty, glad your tummy is feeling better.

Another great, catch up on sleep, day.

  1. Hi sweet Jetty – so glad you, JJ and Mom (especially Mom) got to catch up on sleep – I;m sorry your tummy was upset I so glad it;s starting to feel better. Boy your Mom sure makes some amazing foods – she is very talented!

Could you not see my post from yesterday? I posted several times but they kept disappearing? Darn technology!! I hope Dixie and Mary Ann are doing better after that horrible thing the bad humans did.

Been a super tough weekend with poor Cassie and all this rain, she had us up all Friday night and a good portion of last night – hopefully tonight will be quieter!

sending lotsa goodnight hugs and kisses to you, JJ, Mom, Rachel, Pluffy! xoxoxo

    • Hey it’s Jet here. Hi Miss Wendy.

Glad to report, I’m back to 75% of my normal kibble portion with a few bites of banana afterwards. I think my tummy is back on track.

Mom says thanks for the compliment… she wanted to show the group nutrient dense cooking ideas!

No, Miss Wendy, we only saw the one we responded to. :(

We’ll let you know about Dixie and Miss Mary Ann tonight, haven’t connected…

Oh gosh, poor Cassie. I totally understand as you know. I’ve been a tad reluctant to leave the house myself. We sure hope you got some sleep last night.

Sending bunches of Jetty kisses and JJ hugs to you, Mr. David, Jacob, Cassie (extra ones), Rex and Barkley xoxoxoxo

  2. OK Jetty – I double checked again and see you were able to see my post – sorry – my brain is working very slow these days!! love you so so much! xoxoxo

  3. Hey Jet, you were making me drool all through this and then you didn’t even get anything to share. I’m sure doggie bag means a bag to bring food home in for your dogs. You really need to have a discussion with your mom.

    • Hey Bongo, Jet here. Dude, don’t you know it… it just wasn’t right, I tell you! My tummy is back to about 75% of its normal self, so, soon, she won’t have ANY reason to forego a doggie bag! :)

  4. Jet, I just can not believe she had doggie bags and did not even consider taking that term literal and making one actually *for* doggies. That is ludicrous! Seems that your Mama still needs some training, much like mine.

    • Hey Kol, Hey Felix, Jet here. Hi Miss Jodi.

Kol, this is bordering on the serious! It took me 2 years to train her to get up swiftly at 5 a.m. when I nudged her… this OBVIOUSLY will be another drawn out procedure! Perhaps you and I can write a manual after we get our Moms on the same page!
